JoJo Siwa’s romance with Chris Hughes heats up as fans speculate whether she’s plotting a permanent move to the UK after the star shared she’s embraced all-things British

JoJo Siwa‘s romance with Chris Hughes appears to be heating up, as fans have begun to speculate whether she’s plotting a permanent move to the UK.

The star, 22, jetted back to the US on Sunday after spending the week with her boyfriend in England, sharing on Snapchat she’s returning home to work on her new song, which will be released in a matter of days.

Since meeting Chris, 32, on Celebrity Big Brother in April, JoJo has shared she’s been embraced by her newfound British fanbase, in stark contrast to the cruel backlash she’s faced from some fans in the States.

Last month, the star also postponed her US tour, which was due to kick off on July 10, as well as a planned performance at a Chicago Pride event, though the latter was blamed on a ‘scheduling conflict.’

The star has embraced many parts of British culture, enjoying a Sunday roast with Chris mere days after they left the CBB house.

The star has also admitted she’s now a converted tea-drinker, and soaked up the British countryside last month when she met Chris’ family at their home in The Cotswolds.

During a dance class at Pineapple Dance Studios last month, JoJo also hinted that she’d be willing to relocate to the UK for Chris, saying she feels ‘so loved’ by her newfound British fanbase.

She said: ‘Interestingly enough I feel so loved right now by the world, it’s been beautiful.

‘It’s the UK and I really feel it from here.. it’s been really beautiful this last month, it’s been beautiful, it’s been lovely, and I think I have just never been genuinely happier.

JoJo then coyly went onto add: ‘You can see it, it radiates off me, and yeah there’s a reason why!’

During the chat, the star was asked whether she’d be open to relocating to the UK to be with Chris, and JoJo said that while it may be an option in the future, she feels there’s ‘no shame’ in dividing her time between the US and UK for now.

Obviously I have a beautiful boy here and he’s incredible, obviously he’s here, his friends are here and his family is here,’ she said.

‘Obviously I’m in America, my friends are in America, my family is in America.

‘Life is life, and I think there’s no shame in splitting time, and all of a sudden one way is that way and the other way is that way, I don’t know we go as we go! But yeah I love it here! It’s beautiful.

‘Honestly, coming here as a kid I used to, this sounds horrible, I used to dread it because I didn’t understand the food, I didn’t understand the culture.

‘After Big Brother I have never loved a place more, and I think it’s because I really got embraced with the culture and the food by being literally in a house with just that, when it’s all that.

‘But it’s genuinely become my favourite place in the world, I could spend all my time here, I love it.’

JoJo has also heavily hinted that there are plans for more shows in the UK later this year, after two performances in London back in May.

When JoJo flew back to the UK to surprise Chris last week, the Love Island star shared a telling Snapchat post, gushing that his girlfriend had ‘come home.’

This sparked many comments from fans, including: ‘I can’t with him saying ”home” too cute;’

‘Finally, right, someone hide her passport; Ugh to have that ‘she’s home’ is so adorable;’

‘Christopher saying she is HOME… it is all too much. So glad she is back where she belongs with her sweet boy;’

‘I am so happy Joelle is back in the UK with Christopher. I hope she stays for a while and they both can relax and enjoy life.’

JoJo spent the last week in the UK after surprising her boyfriend Chris Hughes, but on Sunday, the star shared that she was flying home to begin work on her follow-up to her last single Bulletproof.

The star, who was spotted stepping out in California on Monday, shared a lengthy Snapchat post as she prepared to board her 11-hour flight home.

While the star admitted she was sad to be leaving her boyfriend Chris after a quiet week with him, she teased that she was ready to begin work on her next track, but kept tight-lipped about its name.

She wrote: ‘Sad girl taking off to fly back home. Perfect week in my favourite place with my favourite boy.

‘A lot to look forward to going back home, planning a little song release just for you very VERY soon.. so excited about it, coming in less than two weeks.

‘So excited to get home, work on that, and work on myself and train and be with family, friends and of course baby Clyde boy.

‘On a photo/content shoot tomorrow, that will be very fun and different for this song, but inspired by the song itself, will take loads of snaps.

‘For now, gonna spend this flight going through my camera roll, looking at memories from this week to make me smile.’

It comes after JoJo reflected on the recent changes in her personal and professional life in a series of candid Instagram posts.

The dancer previously said she’s ‘never been happier,’ after she begun dating Chris , even secretly flying to the UK on Monday to surprise him after 10 days apart.

And after offering insight into the recent changes in both her professional and personal life in a shoot with YOU Magazine, JoJo took to Instagram to reflect on ‘the woman she’s becoming.’

The former child star admitted that while it is ‘scary’ to face the recent changes in her life, her shoot with the publication has helped her ‘let go of control.’

In a series of posts, she wrote: ‘Stepping into something new… and a little scary. These photos are different. They’re bold. They’re grown. They’re me.

‘For the longest time, I lived inside a sparkly little bubble – and while I love her, it’s time to find the woman I am becoming #JoJoSiwa #NewEra.’

Following her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, where she and Chris first met, JoJo has shared her time on the show has pushed her to make certain ‘changes’ in her life, after noticing things she should ‘never have been OK with.’

And she echoed this in her second post, writing: ‘This shoot pushed me. Not just to pose differently, but to feel differently. To let go of control.

”To stop asking ‘Is this what people expect from me?” and start asking, ”Is this me?” The answer is YES. So here’s to discomfort – it is where the good stuff lives. #OutOfMyComfortZone #Fearless #AdultJoJo.’

Offering a message to her fans, JoJo added: ‘To anyone afraid to change… I get it.

‘But we don’t grow inside the lines. mess it up, try it anyway, and let the world see you ❤️ Here I am. Love her, fear her, or try to figure her out — this is me.’

The star’s posts were soon flooded with comments from her friends and followers offering their support, with her close pal Tyler Cameron writing: ‘You look amazing in all of these!’

In her interview with YOU, JoJo shared that she now identifies as queer, admitting she previously felt ‘pressure’ to call herself a lesbian.

The star has sparked a social media frenzy since she confirmed she is dating Love Island star Chris, after they met on Celebrity Big Brother in April.

She said: ‘When I came out at 17, I said: ‘I’m pansexual, because I don’t care [about gender].’ But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said: ‘I’m a lesbian.’ And I think I did that because of pressure.’

The Dance Moms alum has had several relationships with women since coming out in February 2021.

‘In a weird way, I think [the pressure] came a little bit from inside the [LGBTQ] community at times. From people I know, from partners I’ve had,’ she contended.

‘You just get put in this world where you feel like, because you now have said, ‘Oh, I’m a lesbian’, you have to be a lesbian. And the truth is, sexuality is fluid.’

Reflecting on how her romance with Chris has blossomed since they left the CBB house, she added: ‘I’ll just say that it took time. It took time away and then it took time together,’ adding later that he is now ‘the favourite part of her life’.

Last week JoJo shared the surprise news that she was postponing her US tour, which had been due to kick off on July 10.

An announcement made on the website jojosiwalive.com said the dates have been postponed, with those who booked tickets set to be refunded.

She also teased that there would be more shows in Europe announced soon in a hint that she could be staying in the UK for longer.

It came just days after it was revealed JoJo has been dropped by record label Columbia earlier this year.

The website seemingly detailing her live shows now reads: ‘I’ve got some news that breaks my heart to share… my US tour has to be postponed.

‘I promise I’ll be back before you know it to perform for all the beautiful people in the US!… Announcements will be coming soon, including some Europe shows!:)

‘Thank you so much for your understanding and support. I can’t wait to see you all soon!

‘To my Dream Guest VIPs, my team will be reaching out to you individually to plan something special. Refunds will be issued at point of purchase.’

Back Lot Bash Chicago then shared the news that JoJo would not be performing at the event as planned, with a post on Instagram Stories.

‘Due to a scheduling conflict, JoJo Siwa will no longer be performing at Chicago’s Back Lot Bash,’ it read.

Following the news of JoJo’s withdrawal from the Pride show, some fans were quick to share their reaction to the news, with others rushing to defend the star.

Comments included: ‘America just dropped bombs on Iran, why would we care about JoJo Siwa winning s**t.

‘She won’t be missed; And this is relevant because!?’

‘I’m so over this girl, her 15 minutes of fame are up goodbye!’

However, others rushed to JoJo’s defence, writing: ‘Aww, hope she’s doing okay! Love is wild

‘People are being extremely unfair to JoJo. I’m not a fan but she’s young. She’s figuring things out, in the public eye which has to be a nightmare in itself.

‘She can be pansexual if that’s what she feels. She is allowed to explore until she find what’s right for her.’
