Johnny Vaughan confirms  his ‘dearest’ father Randal has died as former Big Breakfast star pays moving tribute on social media

TV and radio presenter Johnny Vaughan has announced the death of his father in a new Instagram post.

Vaughan, best known for his former role as host of raucous Channel 4 show The Big Breakfast, confirmed retired engineer Randal’s passing on Sunday morning.

Sharing a series of photos with social media followers, he wrote: ‘My Dearest Dad has gone and I’m so very sad.’

The presenter, 59, accompanied the message with a poignant quote from the much covered Broadway ballad I’ll Be Seeing You.

‘I will find you in the morning sun and when the night is new, I’ll be looking at the moon but I’ll be seeing you,’ it read.

Celebrity friends including Denise Van Outen, with whom he hosted The Big Breakfast between 1998 and 2001, were among the first to comment as he broke the news.
