JOHN HIGGINS will contest a snooker Generation Game on Sunday as he searches for his first silverware since turning 50.
In the Battle of the Scots, Higgins, 50, thrashed compatriot and close friend Stephen Maguire 9-2 to earn his place in the International Championship final in Nanjing.

The Wizard of Wishaw scored breaks of 67, 71, 101, 137 and 97 to lead 6-0 before he got over the line.
There will be a 28-year age gap when the veteran potter plays Wu Yize, 22, from China over the best of 19 frames with a £175,000 jackpot on the line.
Higgins is aiming to become the first person to win ranking titles in his teens, 20s, 30s, 40 and 50s.
The snooker said: “To be 6-0 up was what dreams are made of to start with.
“I’m delighted with the way I hit the ball.
“In a way, it’s easy to play Stephen as a friend, because I know he is such a fierce competitor. When you are out there, you are giving it 100 per cent.
“After the match and before you are still mates obviously. It’s a great win for me to beat Stephen like that.
“Wu Yize has been incredible.
“To beat Judd Trump from 4-0 down with six one-visits, then carry it on to beat Barry Hawkins 6-0 and beat the World Champion Zhao Xintong after that is amazing.
“He’s going to be on the crest of a wave.
“I’m hoping he finds the nerves, because it is his first final in China.”
