Ferguson ends losing streak
Fans of UFC legend Tony Ferguson will be absolutely DELIGHTED with this win – even if the refs (again) made their presence a bit too heavily felt.
Ferguson had been on an eight-fight losing streak and there was some concern that TikTokker/former nurse Salt Papi would beat him, as he had looked good in recent outings in the ring.
But Ferguson was excellent and got the stoppage win before dropping to his knees and having a quick cry.
He then said he was ready to fight on – Dillon Danis made his way into the ring and mooted a potential Misfits MMA fight.
Till vs Froch?
Here’s a new angle of Darren Till confronting Carl Froch after the fight…
Not sure we see this fight, but it’s fun to speculate.
Incredible KO
In case you missed it, here’s the moment Darren Till scored an absolutely brutal KO over Luke Rockhold.
Social media reaction
Fans on social media sites didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at what they were watching in Joey Essex’s win over Numeiro.
While it wasn’t the purest boxing spectacle, it absolutely was entertaining – a lot more so than some recent elite level shows we’ve covered.
One fan joked: “I’ve seen enough, give Joey Essex Usyk.”
Another added: “That joey Essex fight might be the best and worst thing I’ve ever seen hahahaha”
World title challenger Jack ‘El Gato’ Catterall, wrote: “FOTY”.
And one said: “Joey Essex would’ve beaten Floyd Mayweather.”
Essex talk
Joey Essex didn’t speak in the ring after his big ring, but SunSport reporter Jack Figg was invited into his dressing room after the fight to grab some words.
As soon as Jack wakes up we’ll let you know exactly what Joey had to say about his big win.
Conor Benn, who has sparred Essex during this camp, was buzzing on his behalf and said: “”Best fight on the card without a shadow of a doubt.
“You looked like you had either of them about to go at any moment.
“You had the crowd giving them a standing ovation, everyone ringside had the hairs standing on the back of their neck.
“Well done to Joey, absolutely killed it, and deserved the victory.”
Oh, what a night
Joey Essex will be waking up at some point this morning absolutely BUZZING.
The reality TV star didn’t produce the most technical display of boxing but his fight with Numeiro was an absolute barn burner.
The Portuguese also deserves his fair share of the credit for continuing to swing in what was a genuinely exciting fight.
Joey eventually got the win, falling to his knees after becoming overwhelmed by emotion.
