JOCKEY Shane O’Callaghan was rushed to hospital after sustaining a serious injury at Conmel.
O’Callaghan suffered what is believed to be a significant leg injury while riding in the 2.20 Monroe Maiden Hurdle.
The Irishman had been riding Peter Maher-trained Boston Fire.
After jumping the third to last hurdle, Boston Fire slipped on the turf.
Reporting on Racing TV, Johnny Ward claimed that O’Callaghan’s leg injury was “quite significant”.
Ward then confirmed that proceedings would be delayed by around 30 minutes.
Doctors attended to O’Callaghan, who has ridden seven winners this season, in the immediately aftermath of King Of Aces’ victory.
He was then taken to hospital for further assessment.
The race following the 2.20, the Lisronagh Handicap Hurdle, had been supposed to get going at 2.50.
Following a half-hour delay, action was able to resume at 3.20.

Following his triumph, Mullins, who also triumphed in the Rathronan Maiden Hunters Chase earlier in the day, said: “We have been trying to replace Billaway and I had Cause For Comment last year who didn’t quite measure up, so I got this horse and I’m hoping to make him into a Billaway-type horse.
“I’ll look to a winners’ of one hunters chase next and maybe aim him for the Ladies Cup at Punchestown then and afterwards to Stratford.
“Next year, as a six-year-old, I’d hope to work towards Cheltenham.”
