The Wathnan-retained rider felt unwell during Wednesday’s racing.

And he said tests conducted on Thursday revealed he was suffering from a viral infection.

It means Doyle will not compete again for the remainder of the blockbuster Ebor meeting.

And among those replacing him is Rab Havlin, who will get the huge ride on French Master in the Ebor.

Doyle wrote on X: “I felt unwell during racing on Wednesday, underwent tests on Thursday and have been diagnosed with a viral infection.

“I have been prescribed antibiotics and have been advised to rest for a few days.

“It’s hugely disappointing to be missing important rides, but I wish the team well and look forward to being back in action shortly.”
