JetBlue Airways Flight 312 departed Chicago O’Hare International Thursday at 8:41am local time.
The Boston-bound Airbus A220 was in the process of landing at Logan Airport at 11:49am EST when it skidded off the runway.
‘Customers safely deplaned and were bussed to the terminal,’ a JetBlue spokesperson told Daily Mail. ‘Safety is JetBlue’s top priority.
‘We will conduct a full investigation of the incident and will work closely with the relevant authorities to understand the cause.’
Officials have not provided any explanation for the mishap at this time.
Daily Mail has also approached the FAA and NTSB for further information.
The incident in Boston comes just hours after a London Gatwick-bound Air India Boeing 787 crashed in India this morning.
At least 244 people were killed in the crash, an official said, noting that ‘most of the bodies have been charred beyond recognition’.

Aviation experts say that Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, may have suddenly lost power ‘at the most critical phase of flight’ after takeoff.
The possible causes are believed to include a rapid change in wind or a bird strike leading to a double engine stall.
Officials from India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau are now at the scene to carry out an analysis of the wreckage and retrieve the stricken jet’s black box.
