JESSIE J has wowed fans with stunning new photos from a family holiday following a brave breast cancer fight and mastectomy.
The 37-year-old pop star looked incredible in a black swimsuit as she relaxed in a pool and relaxed with her son Sky.
Jessie shared heartwarming snaps with her basketball player boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman, and their two-year-old son Sky.
In one particularly sweet moment, Sky flashed a big thumbs up, smiling from ear to ear.
Jessie captioned the gallery of photos: “Sky learnt this (thumbs up emoji) on holiday and now every time he does it he expects everyone around him to cheer.”
The singer revealed she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in June.
Jessie said that she was clinging onto hope after being told by doctors they had caught the cancer “early.”
Within weeks she underwent a mastectomy and spoke candidly about the physical and emotional toll of her treatment.
In a heartbreaking post, Jessie shared how her son comforted her before surgery, saying: “Mummy’s gonna be OK.”
Jessie later discovered her cancer had not spread but she has been open about the ongoing challenges of recovery.
The singer, real name Jessie Cornish, spoke in detail for the first time about how she learned she was suffering from the disease.
She opened up to Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast, as she said she was initially told following a check up and ultrasound that “it looked healthy” and wasn’t something doctors were worried about.
However, Jessie’s symptoms – including a “really achy” arm and pins and needles in her hand every morning – continued, and led to her having a biopsy the day after her 37th birthday.
Her doctor then said she would “phone you on Monday if it’s not good news”
That weekend, Jessie kept herself busy, and had just come off a call talking about her BAFTAs performance when she got a text from the expert, asking her if she could Zoom.
“So I’m thinking, oh, it’s going to be nothing because it’s a Zoom, but it was Monday. So I was like, hmm,” she said.
The doctor initially began the video call by asking Jessie if she was sitting down, at which point she knew that it was bad news.
“And she went, I’m really sorry, but it’s all come back as like high grade cancer cells,” Jessie recalled.
“And I just burst into tears. You know, that was my normal… that was a healthy reaction.”
She also spoke about how the disease has affected her being a mum, to son Sky, who turned two in May.
“I feel like cancer’s robbed me of memories with my boy,” she sighed.
“Like yesterday I sobbed, because I miss my boy.
“I can’t be a mum like I want to be a mum. And I feel robbed.
“I feel like cancer’s robbed me of memories with my boy.”
Jessie had reconstructive surgery on one breast.
In an update to her social media followers earlier this month, she revealed she was admitted to hospital again six weeks after the surgery.
She shared photos from hospital nad said: “How I spent the last 24 hours.
“Six weeks post surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned.”
She explained: “I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD. [But] they ran a lot tests, which ended up showing I have an infection (still trying to figure out what) and a little fluid on my lungs.
“Finding it hard to breathe in, but I discharged myself last night (I hate being in hospital) and will continue the investigation as an outpatient.”
