Janet Street Porter shocked the Loose Women audience by revealing that she has got married for a FIFTH time on Monday’s episode of the show.
Admitting that she ‘saved the best till last’, the media personality, 79, was all smiles as she shared her happy news with her husband Peter Spanton via video link.
Janet, who got married over the weekend, said: ‘Hi everyone, I’ve been keeping a big secret, it’s my big news for everyone that’s watching…
‘Peter and me got married on Saturday.
‘So there you are. I finally did it. I saved the best till last.’
Janet and the British businessman have been romantically linked since 1999.

The media personality’s Loose Women co-stars Brenda Edwards, Kaye Adams, Sue Cleaver and Nadia Sawalha were all quick to offer their congratulations.
Kaye couldn’t help but point out: ‘Husband number five.’
Brenda then joked: ‘Stop counting numbers!’
Offering more serious messages of support following the ceremony in Great Yarmouth, Brenda became emotional and simply said ‘congratulations’.
Kaye added: ‘She looks content, radiant and happy.’
Janet’s first marriage was to Tim Street-Porter way back in 1967, but the pair split in 1975.
She then tied the knot in 1975 to English publisher Tony Elliot – however, by 1977, the pair were divorced.
Her third marriage came later that decade to Canadian documentary filmmaker Frank Cvitanovich in 1979, but this union was also relatively short-lived, and the pair divorced in 1981.

The star’s fourth – and most recent husband until this weekend – was David Sorkin, who she was married to between 1997 and 1999.
Janet previously told The Guardian that she has had so many seriously relationships over the years that she has a good understanding of how men’s minds work.
She said: ‘I’ve been married four times and lived with a lot of blokes – I know how men’s minds work.
‘What have all the men I’ve been with got in common? They’re all pathetically grateful.’
Janet does not have any children and previously wrote about not being a mother in a column for The Independent.
She said ‘there’s no stigma in not having children’ and said that she does not ‘miss’ motherhood.
Janet wrote: ‘Men are far more demanding – especially creative, imaginative men who live in their own heads. I have certainly enjoyed the dramas and the delights of their company.
‘I wouldn’t swap a smart man for a toddler or a goldfish.’

Janet has previously spoken about her failed marriages and said her first marriage to Tim Street-Porter ended due to her own infidelity.
Explaining her reasons, Janet, who was 19 when she first got married, said that she felt like she was ‘too young to be tied down’ – despite going on to marry again the same year.
Janet’s second marriage, meanwhile, to Tony Elliot lasted a mere two years, but she said that the pair knew it was a mistake from the get-go.
She told the Loose Women panelists: ‘I turned to him and said, “Well that was a mistake,” within 24 hours [of marrying] and he said, “I agree”.
‘I said, “We were such great friends, exactly the same age, why on earth did we get married?”‘

Prior to Janet’s happy news on Monday’s episode of Loose Women, Brenda broke down in tears on discussing the death of her son Jamal – as her fellow ITV panelists rushed to comfort her.
The singer and presenter, 56, tragically lost Jamal back in February 2022 when he passed away aged 31.
During Monday’s (February 2) episode of Loose Women, the group – which included Brenda, Kaye Adams, Sue Cleaver and Nadia Sawalha – discussed the topic of grief.
Speaking in the programme, Brenda said: ‘I find it so comforting to hear stories about Jamal all the time.
‘I love it and I get messages from people and it’s really comforting. But there’s such a wave.
‘It seems like 20 hours out of a 24 hour day, I’m just in a…’

At this point, Brenda became noticeably emotional and brought to tears, as her co-stars offered comfort.

DJ and music entrepreneur Jamal tragically died from a cardiac arrest, brought on from cocaine and alcohol.
In a previous episode, the four women talked about how they ‘keep calm and carry on’ and Brenda opened up about how she has dealt with difficult times

Last year, Brenda moved other members of the Loose Women panel when she shared her thoughts about bereavement.
She told Charlene White, Linda Robson and Gloria Hunniford: ‘ I like to say the keep calm and carry on T-shirt is permanently with me.
‘Obviously everybody knows everything that I’ve been through, but it’s like you need a tool kit.’
The TV star elaborated how she believes you need different things to get you through trials in life.
Brenda explained: ‘You might have a ladder because you’ve got the ups and the downs, you might have a hammer because it just bashes you sometimes. And I like a spirit level to keep me on the straight line and you’ve got to have some glue to try and put yourself back together after it.’
