And he was forced to wait on the bench for almost an hour of the goalless bore draw at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.

Although it seems some of his team-mates have already picked up on one of Vardy‘s habits.

Snaps of the Premier League legend on the bench showed him next to one of his new colleagues as he drank a RED BULL.

Wife Rebekah was in the stands to cheer on her husband — who was part of the Foxes historic Prem-winning side in 2015-16 — when he finally took the field in the 58th minute.

But the King Power legend barely had a sniff, enjoying just seven touches.

In fact, Cremonese were fortunate to escape with a point.

Verona are without a home win since February 23 and missed a host of chances, with Giovane and Gift Orban both guilty of fluffing their lines.

The stalemate ended Cremonese’s 100 per cent start to the season but the point moved them up to third.

Vardy will be hoping for better luck on Sunday when he could potentially make his home debut against Parma.

Ahead of his debut, Vardy had opened up about life in Italy, including his Serie A icon.

Jamie Vardy disagrees with reporter in awkward moment after Cremonense transfer

He told Dazn: “When I was younger, it was [Alessandro] Del Piero. You watch him play – he was unbelievable.

“Watching him score most weeks was really encouraging for me.

“Having watched that, me coming here and trying to do exactly the same – it’s really exciting.”

Vardy also revealed his family had not all joined him in Italy yet, with a number of obstacles yet to be overcome.

He added: “They’re (my family) not here yet at this moment – obviously you have to go through the procedures to get visas and things like that – but they’re really looking forward to it.

“A real buzz and excitement, especially with getting to learn a new language as well.”
