JAMIE LAING was left with a soggy suit after interviewing victorious Cambridge stars following the men’s Boat Race.
Cambridge made it four consecutive victories over Oxford in the prestigious event.
Working for Channel 4, Made in Chelsea star Laing was determined to interview the victorious rowers moments after their win.
The Candy Kittens mogul spoke to team president Noam Mouelle.
He then bellowed “Sammy” over and over again as he tried to catch the victorious cox Sammy Houdaigui’s attention.
In order to speak to Houdaigui, Laing waded almost waist-deep into the Thames.
His commitment earned him a word with the Oxford cox… and potentially a more expensive trip to the dry cleaners.
Houdaigui, who studies Real Estate Finance at Fitzwilliam college, said: “That was a fantastic race, all credit to Oxford and all credit to the eight guys.”
He then went on to add: “I have the best mum. I have the best dad.”
Later asked about his first Boat Race experience by presenter Clare Balding, Laing said: “My suit is soaking wet, but apart from that I’m great.”

Earlier in the day, Laing was forced to apologise following bad language in an interview.
The C4 reporter spoke to victorious cox Louis Corrigan following Oxford’s win in the women’s race.
Getting carried away, Corrigan said: “What a f****** awesome day.”
Some mean spirited fans took issue with Laing’s interviewing technique.
One wrote on X: “Someone should tell Jamie Laing he’s allowed to ask other questions than ‘How are you feeling?’ and ‘How proud are you?’”
While a second blasted: “Jamie Laing is ridiculous. He simply asks everyone in the boat race how are you feeling?”
There was to be another awkward moment for Laing, however, as he crowned the men’s winner – offering commiserations to… Cambridge?!
The crowd froze as the blunder landed, before Laing clocked it and scrambled to correct himself.
He quickly fixed the slip and switched to celebrating the Light Blues.
