Jake Paul faces NINE MONTHS out after complications of his broken jaw injury having already been suspended from boxing

JAKE PAUL could be out for as long as NINE MONTHS after suffering a broken jaw in his crushing defeat to Anthony Joshua on Friday night.

Paul was a huge underdog in his farcical clash against the two-time heavyweight world champion that was aired on Netflix.

And while he took Joshua to the sixth round, he was eventually sent to the canvas after being taken out by a devastating right hand.

Paul revealed his jaw had been broken in two places after driving himself to hospital for surgery.

He later posted photos from his hospital bed and claimed he would have to stick to a liquid diet for the next week.

There have been fears over Paul’s recovery due to the severity of the injury after Eddie Hearn claimed he might never fight again.

And now a report from the Daily Mail claims Paul could face a lengthy lay-off of nine months because of the complications of the injury.

It says that two fractures in his jaw run through the root of Paul’s teeth – and he will soon need dental implants.

But he will have to wait around three months after the jaw fractures have healed before having the procedure, the report adds.

And that’s not the only problem Paul needs to solve because he could also be forced to have crowns fitted to his impants, which could take another six to seven months.

His promoter Nikisa Bidarian said he faced a timeframe of four to six weeks to allow his fractured jaw to heal.

Paul has insisted he will continue to fight in boxing and has even targeted winning a cruiserweight title when his injury heals.

He said: “I got my a** beat, but that’s what this sport is about. I’m going to come back and keep on winning.”

And he certainly looked to be in good spirits in the days after the fight after posting a picture of himself on a private jet filled with dollar bills and holding a gold gun.

Paul is understood to have shared an eye-watering prize pot of £200million from the fight.

However, Chisora added to the chorus of concern about Paul’s future and believes his injuries will force him to retire from the sport.

He told SunSport: “That guy is not going to box any more. He will not box any more.

“You’re mad, after he had a broken jaw he’s going to have PTSD. He’s got a broken jaw, twice, in two places.

“He’s going to have PTSD. He’s not going to box any more, he’s done. Tell me somebody who had a broken jaw in this boxing game and came back?

“Real boxers come back, YouTubers don’t come back.”
