Katie, a mother and content creator who is currently renovating her home in Shropshire, shared the purse-friendly plant that will add “fast privacy” to your garden.
With this trick, you won’t have to worry about splashing the cash on a pricey privacy fence, making it great for those on a budget.
Posting on social media, Katie revealed the bargain trees that give privacy, leaving many totally stunned.
The DIY enthusiast then shared her rave review on Salix Trees, which are also known as ‘Flamingo’ Trees.

Flamingo Trees are native to the UK and are known for their graceful weeping forms, fluffy catkins, and varied stem colours.
They thrive in moist soils and are found in a variety of habitats, from riverbanks to rocky slopes.
Prior to planting the Flamingo Trees, Katie’s garden was pretty plain.
But after just eight weeks of planting the trees, Katie’s garden looked “beautiful”.
Thrilled with the affordable trees, Katie beamed: “They are fast growing, budget friendly.”
Not only this, but she also added: “They have the most beautiful pink, white and green leaves.”
Katie later shared that she “absolutely loves” her Flamingo Trees, as she wrote: “We planted these trees three years ago, and within weeks of planting them, they became wonderfully bushy.”
She then confirmed: “We paid £15 per tree at a local garden centre, but I have seen them in supermarkets for slightly cheaper.”
How to create privacy in your garden
CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden:
1. Fencing
- Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy.
2. Hedges and Plants
- Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier.
