But it looks like celebrities are now in the market for quiet village life and are ready to swap their glam rags for wellies and raincoats to suit the British weather.

Just this week, The Sun reported that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are final stages of purchasing 58 acres of land on the outskirts of Wiggington.

The pair, who were declared the richest celebrity couple, have reportedly received planning permission to build a “spectacular rural estate” and if they go ahead with the plans, they won’t be far from Great Tew, which is already home to huge names in the showbiz world.

Last year, comedian Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi also swapped their £22million Bel Air home to live the life of countrywomen in the Cotswolds.

However, it’s not just the honey-coloured Cotswolds that’s become home to famous faces – there are also plenty of other UK neighbourhoods where you could be rubbing shoulders with A-list stars.

So, do you have any actors, footballers and other high-profile celebs you could bump into while popping into the local corner shop?

Loved by beach-goers seeking a beautiful, less crowded spot than larger resorts, Magwan Porth has been nicknamed Hollywood-by-the-Sea.

With a couple of cosy pubs to enjoy a pint with your Sunday roast, a golf course, Japanese gardens and even mini-golf down by the seafront, it’s no wonder that the scenic village attracted a number of celebs.

Amongst the 1,307 residents (as per the latest census in 2011) are two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin, actor James Norton, and reportedly even the Aquaman – Jason Momoa – himself.

Other famous names linked to this idyllic Cornish village include, Cool Cornwall reported, Jamie Dornan, Imogen Stubbs, and The Hunger Games star Stanley Tucci.

Past visitors have reportedly included award-winning actress Kate Winslet and Don’t Look Back in Anger singer Noel Gallagher.

However, not all rumoured Mawgan Porth celebrities have actually bought property here.

Despite persistent speculation, the local residents confirm that Jason Statham, Stanley Tucci, and Brooklyn Beckham are not among their neighbours – though the rumour mill continues to churn.

Celebrity homes, as well as those owned by less-famous people with large pots of cash, have sprung up along the cliffs overlooking this beautiful beach in North Cornwall.

This has pushed house prices up to an eye-watering £5.7million a pop, as per the data by Rightmove, stirring up local resentment.

Situated in South West London, within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, New Malden is typically considered to a more affordable area in the capital, with the average property going for £671,401 .

However, local celebrities who call New Malden their home could very well cause the prices to sky-rocket in this leady neighbourhood.

In January 2019, reports emerged on X – formerly known as Twitter – that the famous English rapper Stormzy, had purchased a property in the area.

Although, these were unofficial rumors, and the 32-year-old Vossi Bop grime artist gave an insight into his modern home in the wealthy borough of Chelsea in 2022.

If you’re loyal to your weekly shop at Waitrose you may bump into English Spiderman Tom Holland and his fiancé Zendaya, best known for her role as Rue Bennett in Euphoria.

While the loved-up couple live in an epic £3million mansion in Richmond, they’ve been snapped doing their groceries in New Malden, as Tom’s mother still resides in the area.

He made the fading seaside town his permanent home in 2011, and has since become its most famous resident with crowds flocking to see him train on the beach.

Speaking on a three-part ITV documentary in 2020, he said: “People say to me, ‘Why don’t you live in California or America?’ – why would I?

“Why would I abandon my own country for a bit of money and some fame?

“I love it. I would never leave Morecambe. It’s true beauty. If the weather was better, every house here would be a million quid.”

The garden is so big that it looks like parkland and Sam has set up an Instagram account to show off the interior.

Just as impressive is Abbey Clancy’s pristine family mansion which she shares with ex-England footballer Peter Crouch and their four kids, Sophia Ruby and Liberty Rose, and sons Johnny and Jack.

The lavish £3m crib flaunts a golden fire-place, a sweeping stair-case, contemporary neutral interior and an enviable garden – and with so much thought going into the build, it’s little surprise the 39-year-old has some ground rules when it comes to her home.

“The kids spill Ribena on my cream rug and the cats scratch the sofa that’s just been reupholstered, and every time it’s like a little knife to the heart.”

Sonning, located on the banks of the Thames, was placed on the list published by The Telegraph as a hot spot for celebs to re-locate outside of the busy city environment in 2023.

This star-studded village has attracted everyone from Ocean’s Eleven actor George Clooney and wife Amal Clooney to musicians, politicians and footballers.

The award-winning 64-year-old bought his beautiful 17th-century mansion within the village in 2016 alongside wife Amal.

According to Reading Chronicle, it is thought that when visiting their home in Sonning, the Hollywood legend is a fan of the local pub The Bull Inn and the Mill Theatre which features a range of popular plays and musicals.

The loved-up pair aren’t the only famous people to live in the village however, with Led Zeppelin front man Jimmy Page, former Spurs and England player Glenn Hoddle and ex-prime minister Theresa May also residents.

It’s no surprise though with the village receiving glowing reviews from people online.

UK blogger Pictures of England described it as “picture perfect” after paying a visit, praising the architecture in particular.
