Israel Pounding the Crap Out of Iran May Save Christians in Nigeria – HotAir

Besides simply appreciating the absolute fearlessness and mastery the Israelis have displayed in their campaign against the Iranian regime, and, as David posted a short while ago, very possibly brought them groveling for mercy, there are additional benefits to Israel’s actions for everyone.

Hezbollah backs away from conflict with Israel after Lebanese government warning

Hezbollah has said that it will go back to the Lebanese state before making a decision on war or peace with Israel, effectively ruling out any armed response to Israel’s strikes on its key ally and benefactor Iran.

Lebanese government sources told The New Arab’s affiliate Syria TV that the Lebanese presidency had earlier contacted Hezbollah to find out its position on Israel’s surprise attack on Iran, which killed key military leaders and injured dozens of civilians.

The sources said that Hezbollah had told Lebanese army officials that it understood the concerns of the state, the army, and the Lebanese people and would not “be led towards Israel’s aim of taking the region to full-scale war”.

In all honesty and for all the Iranian bluster to the contrary…





…Israel had decapitated the Iranian-backed terrorist group, so there wasn’t going to be a lot they could do in any event, other than draw Lebanon into another conflict and more destruction.

There has been one place where Iran-backed proxies have run amok pretty much unhindered and ignored for years. In Nigeria they have slaughtered thousands of Christians with impunity.

I can’t even say the world yawned. Save for some groups desperately trying to draw attention to it, the world hasn’t even noticed.

Sadly, Nigeria has become known as the world’s center of Christian martyrs. In any given year, the number of Christians killed by extremist groups is rarely less than 4,000 – often more than in the rest of the world combined.

Violence against the Nigerian Christian population is significantly localized in the north, where twelve Muslim-majority states declared sharia law in 1999, resulting in huge numbers of Christians experiencing daily discrimination. But it was the rise of an extremist movement called Boko Haram, which first started its murderous attacks in 2009, that resulted in Christians experiencing unprecedented violence.

According to an April 2023 report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, at least 52,250 persecuted Christians have been killed in the past fourteen years, simply for the crime of being Christian. In the past five years, violence has spread southwards to the middle belt of Nigeria, with radicalized Fulani herdsmen killing Christians in order to steal their land.





At the beginning of the month, Muslim terrorists, who often arrive in the little Christian communities on motorbikes out of the blue, ran from house to house and through the village, slaughtering people in the town as they fled.

It’s a scene repeated over and over again. The barbaric and sadistic Islamic murderers very much enjoy it when they can trap worshippers in a church on Sunday.

The latest brutal murders occurred this past weekend. Close to 200 souls, many of whom were already refugees seeking shelter from the violence, were viciously slaughtered by Fulani Islamic terrorists.

This time, however, the world has seen and a religious leader has spoken publicly condemning the unspeakable carnage.





…Around 200 people were “brutally killed” in Yelwata, in the Guma Local Government Area on the night of the 13th/14th June, the Pope said, most of them internally displaced persons “sheltered by the local Catholic mission”. 

Speaking just before delivering the Sunday Angelus prayer, the Pope prayed for “security, justice, and peace” in Nigeria, adding that he was thinking in particular of the “rural Christian communities of the Benue State who have been relentless victims of violence”. 

Responding to the attack, Amnesty International Nigeria on Saturday called on Nigerian authorities to “immediately end the almost daily bloodshed in Benue State and bring the actual perpetrators to justice”.

Another wrinkle in the ongoing persecution?

Israel’s campaign against one of the chief sponsors of the terrorist groups that are perpetuating these ghastly attacks and continuous massacres.

If the Israelis have managed to cut off the head of the snek, and the funds flowing to pay for weapons, ammo, machetes, and motorbike fuel these satellite proxies need in far-flung locales to rampage, what will happen in Nigeria?





Surely, there might be some relief in sight.

God bless the Israelis.

And frankly?

I want the Iranian mullahs crushed like bugs.

But that’s me.
