Is That Civil War Elon Predicting About to Happen? – HotAir

It depends on how you define “Civil War,” I suppose. The government has systematically disarmed the population, so it’s hard to imagine a straight-up citizens vs soldiers war with mass casualties.

On the other hand, it sure looks like ordinary Britons are rising up and standing up against an establishment that is determined to suppress them and to double down on the things that are creating the discontents, and that violence will escalate until there is a massive change in British politics and a fundamental rebalancing of power in the country.

Citizen resistance expressed as low-level political violence is increasing. Something akin to the first Russian Revolution in 1917–mass uprisings leading first to increasing repression, followed by an abdication of the Czar and a rebalancing of power. The second revolution installed the communists in an armed takeover, but even that was not a civil war as we think of it.

Whatever you want to call it, Britain’s politics are being upended, and we are likely at the tipping point. As Beege wrote, the British–particularly the English–are fighting back against the government using a lot more than words or electoral politics. English people are done with the migrant hotels, the speech suppression, the coverups of gangs sexually assaulting girls, and the remaking of Britain by the British government.

When the flag of the country is defined as hate speech by the establishment–the government rejecting its own citizens–that government will likely fall. And it will fall not in a normal election cycle, but through mass protests amounting to a color revolution. And not one spurred on and funded by USAID, but a genuine one that borders on the edge of violence.

The flag protests are just one small part of a larger movement. Ordinary Britons are taking to the streets, even laying siege to “migrant hotels.”

Protesters just won a court victory, in which a judge ruled that a migrant hotel in Epping should not be established.

The government is appealing. Not only is this political poison, but if it wins the appeal–which seems quite possible–it will spark a new round of violence.

It isn’t just a struggle over policy–the UK is nominally a democracy, and the will of the people is very, very clear. It is a struggle for power, and somebody is going to win, and each side is determined to crush the power of the other.

Government officials accuse the majority of people they represent of being hateful and in need of suppression. Recently, we saw the contrast between Lucy Connolly being imprisoned more than a year for a tweet that was online for a few hours, while a Labour government official was let off for demanding the murder of English citizens.

It is being called “two tiered justice,” but at base it is an establishment exercising power over people it disapproves of. It is two-tier, of course, but it is more than that. It is a power struggle, with ordinary citizens being terrorized by their government.

Situations like this cannot persist forever, and I sense that something is breaking in British society that cannot be repaired without the ousting of the establishment and its complete replacement.

The atmosphere is getting explosive, proving that Elon Musk was right that (something like) a civil war is inevitable in Britain. We can argue the semantics, but not the reality.

When Elon tweeted this, the UK government even suggested extradited Musk for making this simple observation.

So far the government’s reaction has been to threaten people–and even punish people–for simply stating facts and sharing them.

But it can’t go on forever. Reality always wins in the end. What can’t go on forever simply won’t.
