Canada’s PM refuses to rule out military involvement

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney refused to rule out military involvement as he spoke from Australia on Thursday.

He has said that Canada will not participate in the US military action, but when pressed on whether he would rule it out – even if the conflict were to spread – Carney said anything was possible.

‘You’ve asked a fundamental hypothetical in a conflict that can spread very broadly,’ he said.

‘Today’s events or recent events point to that, so one can never categorically rule out participation. We will stand by our allies.’
