AN INTERIOR guru has shared the five trends she predicts will be outdated for 2026.
So if you want a pad that’s sure to be expert-approved, you’ve come to the right place and will need to listen up.
Flossie, an interior and renovation fan from the UK, who often shares tips and tricks on how to elevate your home online, recently took to social media to share her thoughts on the five overused trends she thinks will be “outdated this time next year.”
In the short clip, the content creator was honest about an “excessive” feature that is “too busy on the eyes” and also revealed the new “millennial grey” she doesn’t think will hold its popularity.
First things first, the DIY fan explained why panelling has got to go.
She said: “I’ve seen a lot of excessive panelling going on, especially in homes that aren’t era appropriate – I personally think too much panelling, unless it’s an original feature, is visually too busy on the eyes.”

Next up, Flossie predicts that we will be seeing a lot of terrazzo tiles get “ripped up” very soon.
She added: “They’ve had a massive boom over the last few years, but now it kind of just reminds me of Wework – a very corporate setting that’s trying to be a bit trendy.”
Not only this, but Flossie is also not a fan of painting everything green.
Getting candid on “millenial green,” the interior lover explained: “We had that trend of painting everything grey a few years ago – green has now replaced that grey, which is infinitely better, but I think green is now going to be that grey in a few years time.”
Additionally, Flossie isn’t convinced by the longevity of “anything boucle.”
“I’ve been seeing it absolutely everywhere – I think this time next year, we won’t see much boucle, I’m already seeing quite a bit of it on second hand furniture retailers,” she recognised.
Flossie also described that boucle as “so impractical,” particularly for those with pets.
Finally, Flossie shared her thoughts on “anything scalloped.”

One user beamed: “Agree with everything.”
And a second chimed in: “Couldn’t agree more.”
But at the same time, someone else wrote: “Panelling is timeless. It’s all over the best hotels in the world.”
Whilst another added: “Panelling has been around for hundreds of years.”
