Inside the farm shop that’s the ‘Harrods of the North’ and is loved by Mollie Mae – with forest lodges and hut tubs

A FARM shop in the UK has become a popular day trip destination – with pumpkins, lodges and private hot tubs.

Located in the heart of Cheshire, The Hollies Farm Shop has lots to explore and is a firm favourite with beloved ex-Love Islander Molly Mae.

The family-run business used to be just an honesty box on the side of the road back in 1959, but has now expanded to become a major family destination with two sites.

Little Budworth is the original and larger location of the two, with a farm shop, butchery, delicatessen, cafe, gift barn and even luxury forest lodges.

In fact, the shop stocks over 70 local suppliers in total.

At the onsite butchers, visitors can purchase a range of different meats, including sausages and burgers made at the farm.

In the farm shop and deli, visitors can pick up fresh fruit and veg, as well as daily baked bread, cheeses, cured meats and a homemade range of cakes and juices.

If looking for the ideal gift, then the farm shop also has a selection of luxury wines, champagnes, beers and spirits.

Then in The Barn, there is an extensive collection of gifts and homeware to explore including Jellycats.

Visitors can also grab a bite to eat and a fully-loaded hot chocolate at The Friesian Rooms, where there is an outdoor terrace.

And throughout the year, the farm shop hosts many seasonal events – for example, for Halloween the farm shop has lots of spooky decor and heaps of pumpkins on sale.

For those who want to spend their time at the farm, they can choose to book a luxury forest lodge, each with its own private hot tub.

There are six lodges in total to choose from, sleeping between four and six people.

Inside, the lodges have a large open plan living area and kitchen and there is even log burner to make nights even cosier.

The lodges cost from around £298 per night, for four people.

And the farm is planning on expanding to create a new kitchen and food area.

The single-storey extension will include food preparation facilities to help scale the business’s offerings.

Back in April, the farm shop also announced a collaboration with Harrods department store, to open a food hall, only to later reveal it was an April Fools Joke.

This is when they posted on social media post showing products sold at the farm shop, including bags which said “Harrods of the North” on them.

Despite this, the northern destination is loved by many with one recent visitor commenting: “Visited The Hollies Farm Shop a week ago and it’s fab!

“[We went to] The Hollies Takeaway for a delicious breakfast bap for my husband, latte and then a still cloudy lemonade for myself which was the best still lemonade I’ve ever had.”

Another visitor added: “Best farm shop ever!! The Hollies is ever evolving, wonderful produce, fantastic variety and lovely staff.

“Today, I was astonished again at the quality of the fruit and vegetables, does someone polish every item before display??”

There’s lots to do in the local area as well, including Wild Shore Delamere, where visitors can experience an Aqua Park, wakeboarding, stand-up paddleboarding and open water swimming.

Or head to Blakemere Village, where there are over 20 shops, 100 independent retailers and lots of family activities including a free outdoor play area and Segway adventure trails

The UK’s biggest garden centre also has a soft play area, shopping village and its own tea room.

Plus, one mum took her kids to an award-winning, technology-free attraction in Cheshire – with cheap tickets during school holidays.
