AN UNEMPLOYED mum has admitted she was stunned when she saw just how much she could get for £50 in Marks & Spencer.
Lauren decided to try out doing a weekly shop in the high street store, after seeing people online saying how cheap it was compared to other supermarkets.
And she took to TikTok to share the impressive results, as she posted pictures of her haul.
The meat section was first, and Lauren picked up two packets of mine, a pack of chicken thighs, a pack of bacon and a beef joint, which was marked at just £4.31.
“Look how cheap the beef joint is!” she pointed out.
The fridge section was next, in which Lauren grabbed a pack of soft cheese, a large block of extra mature cheddar and a pack of brie, as she admitted: “Brie all day, every day!”
Heading over to the tinned foods and cupboard essentials section, Lauren put five tins in her trolley, alongside three packs of stock cubes, some tomato puree, jam, ketchup, wraps, hot cross buns, pittas and blueberry pancakes.
“Got Ted some blueberry pancakes,” Lauren wrote over the top of the snap.
“They were reduced so why not?”
On the snacks side of things, she picked up some Ella’s Kitchen crisps, two fruit pouches, some oaty biscuits, a pack of Kit Kats, a large bag of some salty crisps and some Oreos.
“I had my wisdom teeth removed so can’t eat any snacks,” she said.
“These are for the boys“.
She also grabbed an impressive array of fruit and vegetables, including a butternut squash, blueberries and grapes.
Lauren concluded her post by sharing a look at her receipt, which showed that the haul had come to just £50.21.
There was a downside of shopping at M&S too though, as Lauren admitted she’d had to pop to Tesco to pick up the things she couldn’t get in the first store.
Namely some mini pizzas, a pack of Actimel, a bottle of lemonade, the fruit pouches and the branded crisps and biscuits.
In Tesco, she spent an additional £15.43 – taking her weekly grocery shop total to £65.64.
“We decided to head to M&S this week for our weekly shop,” she wrote in the caption.
