I’m A Celeb camp over-run with blood-sucking LEECHES as camp floods days before show kicks off

JUST days before I’m A Celebrity 2025 kicks off, the famous camp is set to be over-run with blood-sucking leeches due to heavy rainfall and floods.

Household names like Lisa Riley, Ruby Wax and Martin Kemp have been arriving Down Under ahead of the show’s big launch on Sunday – but they could be in for even more unpleasant surprises.

The Sun can reveal how the I’m a Celebrity camp will be hit by 12mm of rain on the opening day as the stars appear onscreen for the first time.

Thunderstorms will also drench the jungle in the two days leading up to Sunday’s start of the hit Australia-based ITV show.

Friday and Saturday will see around 5mm of rainfall over two days before Sunday’s monster downpour.

Thunderstorms are also expected to continue into Monday with highs of 33C expected in the steamy New South Wales jungle.

And that would mean a plague of blood-sucking leeches and giant earthworms for campmates.

Bosses could be forced to limit trips to the famous jungle waterfall as the creek becomes infested with leeches following heavy rainfall.

I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp presenter Joe Swash once revealed how the jungle waterhole becomes overrun with creepy-crawlies, saying: “It’s got leeches everywhere in the water.”

Former contestants Kim Woodburn and Nicola McLean have both had run-ins with leeches in the past.

Nicola was horrified when one of the bloodsuckers clamped itself onto her boob in the camp.

Giant earthworms also make an appearance on the jungle floor during heavy rain when they are forced out of their flooded burrows.

But ITV bosses do employ a team of experts to sweep the camp for deadly snakes and spiders.

The show’s doc Dr Bob McCarron once revealed two deadly funnel-web spiders, as well as poisonous snakes, were removed from the area in New South Wales where the reality show is filmed.

One snake was plucked from the drawbridge used by hosts Ant and Dec minutes before they began filming.

It comes as The Sun confirmed the two stars who will be joining the rest of the cast once they’ve settled in.

I’m A Celebrity 2025 FULL line-up

I’m A Celebrity is returning to ITV with Ant and Dec back as hosts.

Here are the stars taking part in the new series:

Vogue Williams and Tom Read-Wilson will be late entrants to the series, coming in at an unconfirmed date.

It’s become tradition for the show to shake up the group’s dynamic by adding in more celebrities to the camp several days after the start of the series.

They are usually introduced via a bushtucker trial or a challenge to welcome them into the fold.

Tom Read-Wilson is best known for starring on Celebs Go Dating as the team’s well-spoken and quippy receptionist, there to offer a helping hand to the stars looking to find love.

Vogue Williams is a TV presenter and podcast host, who has been married to former campmate Spencer Matthews since 2018.
