AN iconic television show has been renewed for a new series, nearly two decades after it came off air.
While the show’s initial run was short-lived, only lasting for two seasons, it quickly gathered a dedicated fanbase who did nothing but praise the American comedy-drama.
Now eighteen years on it appears their prayers have been answered, as producer Bryan Fuller announced that a third season of Pushing Daisies is officially in the works.
Speaking to The Mary Sue about revisting Pushing Daisies, Bryan said: “We have a season three pitch, and the entire cast wants to come back, and we’re hoping we get to return to them.
“We just have to find somebody who wants to make it.”
Pushing Daisies followed the life of a pastry chef called Ned (Lee Pace) who had the power to bring the dead back to life.
He goes through the episodes solving murder mysteries alongside his resurrected childhood sweetheart, Charlotte (Anna Friel).
Charlotte and Ned lived next to each other when they were growing up, but Charlotte was tragically murdered.
After Ned used his powers to bring her back to life they resumed a relationship together under a horrifying condition.
If they ever touched, she will be dead forever.
Charlotte joins Ned in solving crime cases, all while encouraging him to use his powers for good in the world wherever possible.
In the past Ned’s powers had been reckless, resulting in the accidental murder of Charlotte’s father.
Ned didn’t confess this to her until the show’s eighth episode, rocking her world completely.
The show received a roaring reception in terms of awards, bagging an impressive 17 nominations and 7 wins during the time it ran.
The wins included Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series – won by Kristin Chenoweth in her role as Olive Snook.
Among the losses, Anna received a nomination for a Golden Globe, commending her as Best Actress in a Comedy Series.
Besides Pushing Daisies Anna has featured in many other television dramas including 70-season strong Brookside, Public Enemies, and Marcella.
She’s also acted in many films, with some of her big hits including Limitless, Land of the Lost and The Look of Love.
Anna’s most recent acting role is playing the persona of Anna Mitchell in the 2025 BBC drama Unforgivable.
Scripted by Jimmy McGovern, the drama series tells the story of a family dealing with the aftermath of sexual abuse.
In mid 2025 Anna also appeared in chilling drama The Girl Who Died.
