DESPERATE Housewives has sparked fresh reboot rumours after a cryptic post sent fans into meltdown.
The legendary Noughties drama appeared to tease a comeback after its official social media account dropped a cryptic message hinting at big news.
The telling line has set tongues wagging, with fans convinced it hints the hit series could be heading back to screens.
The official X account shared a vintage clip from the show, sending speculation into overdrive with the caption: “Flowers are blooming on Wisteria Lane”
Eagle-eyed followers immediately hoped the mysterious message was a secret signal for a revival of the cult classic, which bowed out in 2012 after eight seasons.
Fans quickly flooded the comments, begging for a comeback.

One fan pleaded: “don’t pump fake me like this again brah I thought it was a new season”
Another demanded: “We need Season 9!”
A third gushed: “One of the best series, I got hooked from the get-go.”
In 2024, the series celebrated its 20th anniversary, which reignited calls for a long-awaited reunion.
Desperate Housewives first hit TV screens in 2004 and instantly became a worldwide sensation.
The show made huge stars of its cast, led by Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer.
It also featured Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis and Marcia Cross as perfectionist Bree Van de Kamp.
Felicity Huffman starred as Lynette Scavo, while Nicollette Sheridan played the iconic Edie Britt.
Show creator Marc Cherry has previously teased he’s open to returning to Wisteria Lane but only if the stars align.
Meanwhile, Eva Longoria has declared she’d be “the first to sign up” for any comeback project.
Teri Hatcher has long maintained that she’d “never ever say never” to slipping back into Susan’s heels.
However, show boss Marc has made clear he would only revisit the show if there was a strong creative reason, rather than simply reviving it for nostalgia.
For now, fans will have to make do with the upcoming spin-off series, Wisteria Lane, which is expected to land in 2027.
The new show, created by Kerry Washington, is not a direct continuation of Desperate Housewives and will not serve as a ninth season.
Instead, it will follow a new set of characters, with none of the original cast currently attached.
All seasons of Desperate Housewives are now streaming on Disney+.
