ONE of north London’s most famous landmarks is opening up in a whole new way — with visitors soon able to climb onto the roof of Ally Pally itself.
The historic building is also famous to TV fans as a filming location for Doctor Who, adding another layer of appeal.

From February 2026, thrill-seekers will be able to scale the top of Alexandra Palace, as part of a brand-new attraction offering jaw-dropping views across the capital.
Called Summit: Ally Pally Rooftop Adventure, the experience will be the highest roof walk in the UK, taking visitors 130 metres above sea level.
While the views from the surrounding park are already impressive, organisers say the rooftop walk delivers something even more special, a full 360-degree panorama stretching up to 25 miles across London.
Visitors can choose from daytime climbs, sunset slots or evening “London Lights” experiences, when the capital sparkles after dark.
There are also private bookings, group sessions and educational packages available.
Adult tickets start at £28, but there is an extra charge for anyone wanting to take their phone along, thanks to strict photography rules.
According to organisers: “You can only take phones up in a Summit secure phone pouch, purchased pre visit or the day.
” Colours are subject to stock levels.
The attraction joins a growing list of London landmarks offering legal climbs, following in the footsteps of experiences at the O2, Cutty Sark and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
For those after a fresh way to see the capital from above, Ally Pally’s roof could soon be top of the list.
