LIVERPOOL star Ibrahima Konate had his blushes spared after a failed scorpion kick nearly gifted Galatasaray a comical goal.
The Reds had a tough night in Istanbul amid a hostile crowd during their 1-0 defeat in the Champions League last-16 first leg.
Arne Slot‘s side had already gone ahead early in the game through former Southampton star Mario Lemina.
The Turkish outfit then thought they had a second after Liverpool failed to deal with a blistering Galatasaray counter-attack.
Konate was guilty of two mistakes as a poor touch allowed Noa Lang to nip in and pull the ball back across goal.
Konate managed to make contact with the ball with Osimhen lurking behind him.
But he bizarrely attempted to make a clearance with a scorpion kick.
The centre-back completely scuffed it, however, as he missed the ball completely and collapsed to the turf.
This gave Osimhen an easy opportunity to tap into an empty net as he wheeled away in celebration.
But the Nigerian’s joy was short-lived as the offside flag went up.

It was deemed that Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi was in an offside position when the Turkish side began their attack.
The decision was a huge let-off for Liverpool, who struggled to get going during the game.
Fans were stunned by the bizarre moment as some claimed Liverpool got the rub of the green.
One said: “Perfectly good goal. Offside player doesnt effect the play. Liverpool definitely got away with one there.”
A second added: “Got let off there… how he has got away with that?”
And one scolded Konate for his mistake, writing: “Even though it was offside wtf are you doing.”
A fourth wrote: That mistake at the back was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. Twice.”
Liverpool later thought they had equalised, with Konate involved, as the Reds bundled the ball in from a corner.
But after a lengthy VAR check, officials claimed the ball hit Konate’s hand before crossing the line.
