A FAMILY has shared the reason they found themselves stranded on the side of the motorway in a hilarious video.
The clip posted online by TikTokker Danny Aarons showed British mum Tennessee left in hysterics, and quickly racked up a whopping 8.1 million views with over 1,000 comments.
Danny posted a clip of his other half crying, with the caption: “Wasp was in the car, made me pull over on the hard shoulder ffs.”
His wife could be seen on the side of the road looking distraught.
Terrified to come back into the car, she said: “Where are they coming from? Danny, please check!”
Their child, Suede, could be heard in the backseat, mimicking the crying noises Tennessee made.
This didn’t escape the notice of fans, with one in the comments section pointing out: “Baby is copying her,” next to a laughing emoji.
“It’s her and the baby crying the same for me,” a follower commented.
However, others dubbed her antics “wild”.
“Lmao isn’t she like 24?” one troll said, continuing: “Danny is younger than her but she still acts like more of a baby than the actual baby at the back.”
Another laughed: “Good thing she didn’t overreact then…”
While some insisted it wasn’t safe to stop on the hard shoulder, warning: “The hard shoulder is for emergencies only.”
“It’s a wasp. Stopping on the hard shoulder is not a good idea.
“Just imagine if someone weren’t paying attention,” another said.
But there were also TikTokkers who rushed to her defence, with one saying: “Oh dear, everyone is getting at her in the comments about being an adult.
“Ok, let’s just all sit in a car with a wasp in that could potentially sting us. I’d be crying too… valid reaction.”
Another said: “At least I know I’m not the only one this scared of wasps.”
And many agreed, saying they would “die” if the same thing had happened to them.
What happens to wasps during winter?
As the nights get longer, most wasps die off as they can’t find food. Only the queen survives from a colony, hibernating in protected areas until spring.
The wasp life cycle picks up again in spring and summer.
Unlike bees, wasps don’t store food or hibernate during winter but instead spend this time in a dormant state called diapause.
Soft, undisturbed materials combined with heat create ideal nesting conditions for wasps, the experts say, so patio cushion boxes and garden benches are often the worst offenders.
Cars are often warm, and food is easily stuck under chairs – making them perfect for attracting straggling wasps during autumn and winter.
One driver admitted he ditches the vehicle when wasps fly in, revealing in the comments: “I’m a 35-year-old forklift driver that abandons the forklift every time a wasp comes to the forklift.
“I will resume work when it is safe to do so. Sorry, I’m not getting stung for £13.50 per hour.”
“No, this is so relatable because my sister got it stuck in her hair, and she was freaking out and got stung and had to go hospital,” one woman wrote.
“Wasps are no joke; if you get stung in the neck or head, it is lethal, and you could die very quickly.”
Summer 2025 was one of the “worst” for wasp infestation. Reports across the counter saw “monster” nests removed from homes.
Experts claim that the winged critters are attracted to soft materials, which make for ideal nesting grounds.
Scott Evans, a storage expert from Pink Storage, says that poor storage habits in summer could be creating the perfect environment for wasps to nest, especially in garden sheds, cushion boxes and patio storage containers.
