WE all want to look after our health and plenty of us love a cup of coffee in the morning too. Now you can combine both habits.
Coffee can be surprisingly good for your health.
It can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, support gut health and reduce inflammation.
I’ve tried some coffees with added collagen that are great multitaskers.
COLLAGEN SACHETS
WHAT I love about OQO’s collagen coffee is that it comes in a handy little sachet.
Empty it out, add your hot water and you’re ready to go.
This contains Arabica coffee powder with hydrolysed marine collagen so this will help your skin more than your joints and tendons.
This contains 2g of collagen per serving.
It is recommended you don’t mix with milk as this can stop it absorbing efficiently.

CARAMEL LATTE
PROTEIN WORKS’ Collagen Protein Caramel Latte Coffee packs 19g of protein per 25g serving, and 19g of collagen.
It contains Type 1 and 3 bovine collagen peptides that strengthen tendons and ligaments.
This product also has vitamin C, essential for collagen production.
There is added milk and, annoyingly, an E-number, for emulsifying benefits.
It contains medium-chain triglyceride fat that quickly turns to energy to make you feel full.
Be careful, there are 92 calories per serving, and I liked to add a bit of extra milk to mine.
But the calories and E-number don’t put me off.
This really is a hug in a mug.
It tastes amazing – a creamy, sweet caramel treat. I love it.
- There’s 19 servings per 475g bag, price £23.89, theproteinworks.com.
STRESS RELIEVER
COFFEE + Collagen is a mix of organic Brazilian Santos coffee with grass-fed bovine hydrolysed collagen peptides.
There is also antioxidant rich cacao, fibre-packed chicory root for gut health and organic baobab which is rich in vitamin C.
But it is the added ashwagandha that will help with stress relief.
This is an adaptogenic which helps the body deal with stress.
There is 2g of collagen per 10g serving and 36 calories.
This isn’t the strongest and I am not keen on the taste of cacao.
But if you suffer from stress then this could be the one for you.
The only downside is that you make this one in a cafetiere so a bit more of a faff than the others which are instant.
- From £19.20 for 250g, ancientandbrave.earth.
