RIMMEL is an OG in the world of affordable beauty, racking up a long list of celebrity fans over the decades.

Maya Jama, a Rimmel ambassador, has been spotted using the brand’s £9 lip oil on several occasions and has raved about it on her Instagram stories.

I put it to the test to see if it deserves a place in my Valentine’s Day lineup.

Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Lip Oil, £8.99

The Oh My Gloss! Lip Oil comes in 12 shades, a sumptuous selection of pinks, reds and nudes that are perfect for the most romantic day of the year.

It’s a hybrid between a lip balm and a gloss, combining a nourishing formula with a high-shine finish.

The infusion of coconut oil, raspberry seed and passion fruit oils offers hydration, with added Vitamin E to replenish the lips.

I tested the make-up buy in the shade Deep Cherry, a sheer but buildable red that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day make-up looks.

Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Lip Oil: Quickfire Q&A

How much is it? It’s available to shop for a very reasonable £8.99 at Boots.

Who’s it best for? Beauty fans who are after high-quality make-up with an affordable price tag.

What we loved: It’s hydrating, long-lasting and gives a glossy finish, with 12 shades to choose from.

What we didn’t love: Some may find the formula too sticky.

Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Lip Oil, £8.99

My favourite feature of Rimmel’s Oh My Gloss! Oil is that it feels far more nourishing than other products I’ve tried.

It still has the same glossy finish as some of my other favourites, but with added perks (and an affordable price tag).

The cherry colour is great for a dramatic lip, but I like to apply a small amount and dab it with my finger for a subtle everyday look.

The hint of colour and shine elevates my make-up while still looking natural, and I can still see a touch of red on my lips hours after applying.

The other shade on my wishlist is Pink Sugar.

It’s a dupe of my all-time favourite Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm (for a fraction of the price), with the same soft pink and hint of shimmer.

The oil also comes in a pH-adjusting shade, which changes colour when interacting with the lips to give the most flattering shade for each person.

The Verdict: Is Rimmel’s Oh My Gloss! Lip Oil worth it?

Rimmel’s celebrity-approved lip oil is a new staple in my make-up bag.

It leaves the lips looking super glossy, and I like that it’s buildable for choosing between everyday and statement looks.

The formula hydrates the lips (which is needed more than ever during the winter), while adding colour and shine.

The Deep Cherry shade is perfect for creating Valentine’s Day make-up looks, and it would make a great gift for beauty fans.
