JUST three days into the new school term, a mother has been left furious after her daughter was put into isolation.
Faye Houston, a 41-year-old from Norwich, claimed that her child went back to school with a clear nose stud, which saw her get removed from a lesson.
After receiving a phone call from a teacher to explain the situation, Faye was left livid and immediately stormed to the school.
Not only did she remove her daughter Mia from isolation, but she’s keeping her off school now too.
Posting on social media, the brunette beauty got candid on the situation and claimed: “We’re only three days into the new term, Mia was popped into isolation today for refusing to remove her clear nose stud.
“But I think what’s got my back up the most is, the teacher who caught her and popped her into isolation, then continued to let other girls stay in the lesson who have nose piercings.

“I got the phone call, I went straight up to the school and I actually removed her from isolation and brought her home.
“I’m waiting for the school to contact me regarding a meeting so that we can discuss this.
“But in my eyes, if you’re gonna have a policy or rules, the rules have to be for everyone, they can’t just be for certain people that get caught.”
Frustrated with the situation, the content creator added: “I don’t really know where this is gonna go – Mia’s not gonna go to school tomorrow.
“I feel so strongly about this situation. I don’t see why my daughter should have to remove her nose stud, go into school, and be with other girls who still got their nose studs in.
“And that is what I’m gonna argue my case as.”
‘I will continue to fight this’
Since revealing all online, Faye has since opened up to Fabulous about the “joke” of a situation.
Faye told us: “I felt so strongly about this.
“Mia has removed her stud as we have been assured every girl by next week will be doing the same.
They said I will be fined and she will be put in isolation every day then suspended. It’s a joke

“I’ve said I am not letting this rest and if I see girls continue to wear them I will put hers back in.”
Not willing to back down, Faye explained: “I will continue to fight this, even though I am not happy with removing it I can’t not have her in education.
“They said I will be fined and she will be put in isolation every day then suspended. It’s a joke.”
EXTRA HELP WITH SCHOOL UNIFORM COSTS
IF you can’t get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you.
In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing.
Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores.
Some charities offer help to families in need too.
But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant.
Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you.
Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch.
If you don’t know where your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch is, you can find out by visiting www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/nearby/.
If you’re not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund.
Big divide
Faye’s TikTok clip, which she posted online under the username @faye.houston1, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 60,200 views in just 24 hours.
But social media users were left totally divided by Faye’s claims – while some thought Mia’s school were being “pathetic,” others slammed the mother for not following the rules.
One user gasped: “What has having a nose stud got to do with her ability to learn? Schools are pathetic.”
A second gushed: “1000% hun! Good for you for taking a stand!”
As a parent we have to ensure the rules are followed by our kids, simple

Whilst someone else supported: “This is absolutely disgusting…keep spreading awareness so something gets done!”
However, at the same time, not everyone was on the same page, as one person said: “Why did you let her go into school with her nose stud if it’s against policy? She wouldn’t have been put in isolation.”
Another added: “As a parent we have to ensure the rules are followed by our kids, simple.”
Meanwhile, someone else slammed: “Entitled parenting. Only wants rules in place that benefit their own child and feels like they can opt out of the ones they don’t fancy much.”
Different parenting techniques
Here are some widely recognised methods:
Authoritative Parenting
This technique will often foster independence, self-discipline, and high self-esteem in children.
It is often considered the most effective, this technique is where parents set clear expectations – enforcing rules – whilst also showing warmth and support.
Authoritarian Parenting
This is opposite to authoritative parenting, as it is where the parent sets high demands but is low on responsiveness.
It involves ensuring the child is obedient and often employ punitive measures. While this can lead to disciplined behaviour, it may also result in lower self-esteem and social skills in children.
Permissive Parenting
Permissive parents tend to be indulgent and lenient, often taking on a role more akin to a friend than an authority figure. They are highly responsive but lack demandingness, granting children a lot of freedom. This method can nurture creativity and a free-spirited nature but may also result in poor self-regulation and difficulties with authority.
Uninvolved Parenting
Uninvolved or neglectful parenting is marked by low responsiveness and low demands. Parents in this category offer minimal guidance, nurturing, or attention. This often leaves children feeling neglected, which can have significant negative effects on their emotional and social development.
Helicopter Parenting
Helicopter parents are extremely involved and overprotective, frequently micromanaging their children’s lives. Although their goal is to protect and support, this approach can hinder a child’s ability to develop independence and problem-solving skills.
Free-Range Parenting
Free-range parenting encourages children to explore and learn from their surroundings with minimal parental interference. This method promotes independence and resilience but requires a safe and supportive environment to be successful.
Attachment Parenting
According to Marriage.com, Attachment parenting focuses on physical closeness and emotional bonding, often through practices such as co-sleeping and baby-wearing. This approach aims to create secure attachments and emotional well-being, but demands significant time and emotional commitment from parents.
Each of these parenting techniques has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The key is to find a balanced approach that aligns with the family’s values and meets the child’s needs for a healthy, happy upbringing.
Following the flood of comments, Faye later wrote: “Everyone is going to have different opinions on this hence why it’s called a debate.
“They assured me they’re cracking down and by next week no girls will have them in.
“Form teachers have been given envelopes for removing in the morning and I have said if girls still continue to wear it when I’ve taken my daughter’s out I will re-do her nose myself.
“I don’t want her missing out on education but I also won’t have her singled out either, hence why I made the stand.”
