A WOMAN has caused a huge divide after she splashed the cash transforming her newbuild garden.
The homeowner got professionals in to help with her garden makeover and spent more than £5,000 on her outside space.

But while she is overjoyed with her “pretty” garden, others have said she took her yard from “paradise” to “prison.”
Not only this, but some thought it looked “horrific” and “boring.”
It comes after the DIY enthusiast, who is known online as ‘S Kissa’, took to social media to show off her newbuild garden transformation.
Alongside a video of her garden prior to its mega makeover, the woman said: “We bought our newbuild house without grass.”

Moments later, alongside a clip of the space which had since turned very overgrown and was covered with beautiful red flowers, the content creator added: “We went on holiday for a week and came back to this.”
Later in the video, the woman explained that she got experts in to help give her dull garden a new lease of life.
After trimming the overgrown grass and plants back, she added: “So we found a landscaper and they started work.”
The woman opted for porcelain tiles and real grass, which she said was a “must.”
She also had the patio extended slightly to make space for garden furniture.
In an attempt to brighten up the garden, the woman acknowledged: “Then I bought some hanging baskets and attached them to the garage wall.”
She described her hanging baskets as “so pretty” and continued: “After a trip to the garden centre, I planted some flowers and set up our furniture.”
The homeowner showed off the finished garden – which we think looks fabulous.
She confirmed that she spent £5,300 in total for the patio and the grass and now, is working on sorting out a screening for the back of the garden to add privacy to the overlooked space.
How to update your garden on the cheap
IF you want your garden to impress this summer, you’ve come to the right place…
Plan and Prioritise
- Assess Your Space: Take a walk around your garden and note areas that need improvement.
- Set a Budget: Determine how much you can afford to spend.
- Prioritise Projects: Focus on high-impact areas first, like pathways, seating, or focal points.
DIY Projects
- Build Your Own Planters: Use reclaimed wood, pallets, or other materials to create custom planters.
- Create Garden Art: Use old items like tires, bottles, or cans to make unique garden decorations.
- Pathways: Lay down gravel or mulch to create affordable and attractive garden paths.
Plant Smart
- Buy Seeds, Not Plants: Seeds are cheaper than mature plants and offer a wider variety.
- Share and Swap: Exchange plants and seeds with friends or join a local gardening club.
- Grow Perennials: Invest in plants that come back year after year to save money in the long run.
Use Free Resources
- Compost: Make your own compost from kitchen scraps and yard waste to enrich your soil.
- Rainwater Collection: Set up a rain barrel to collect water for your garden.
- Mulch: Use leaves, grass clippings, or wood chips as free mulch to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.
Repurpose and Upcycle
- Old Furniture: Turn an old chair into a plant stand or a dresser drawer into a planter.
- Containers: Use buckets, tins, or even old shoes as quirky plant containers.
- Pallets: Create vertical gardens or compost bins from discarded pallets.
Shop Smart
- Sales and Discounts: Look for end-of-season sales or discounts at garden centers.
- Second-Hand Stores: Find pots, tools, and decorations at thrift stores or garage sales.
- Online Marketplaces: Check sites like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for free or cheap garden supplies.
Maintenance
- Weed Regularly: Stay on top of weeding to keep your garden looking tidy.
- Prune and Deadhead: Regularly prune plants and deadhead flowers to encourage growth and blooms.
- Tool Care: Maintain your tools by cleaning and sharpening them to prolong their life and effectiveness.
By using these tips, you can give your garden a fresh, updated look without spending a lot of money. Happy gardening!
But the TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @s.kissa.j, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 110,800 views.
Social media users were left totally divided by the woman’s garden transformation – while many thought it looked “great,” others weren’t as kind.
One user beamed: “Glad to see real grass. It’s so much nicer.”
A second chimed in: “This was the sign I needed to landscape my garden. Looks great.”
And someone else gushed: “That’s made it look so big! Looks great.”
But at the same time, trolls were out in full force, as one person said: “From natural biodiverse paradise to boring council house garden.”
In response, the woman replied: “No council house here. But you can leave your own garden overgrown if that’s what you prefer.”
Another added: “Prison garden.”
To this, the content creator snapped back and wrote: “And it’s mine. Move along.”
A third commented: “New builds are horrific. Up your standards.”
