A WOMAN has revealed that she slept terribly for years and always felt exhausted.
However, after starting Mounjaro in a desperate bid to lose weight, Kristy noticed that much to her surprise, her sleep dramatically improved.

Prior to using the fat jabs, the 46-year-old was experiencing weight gain, hot flushes and brain fog.
However, after eight months on the injections, the content creator got candid with her Mounjaro experience, leaving many gobsmacked.
Posting on social media, Kristy shared snaps before and after her weight loss and explained that she had lost 42 lbs [3 stone].
Alongside a gym selfie, Kristy recognised that “GLP-1s scare people.”

But the woman then claimed that she was “ready for the risk” and got candid on what “scares” her.
Alongside a snap prior to slimming down, Kristy wrote: “Staying overweight, doing nothing about it.”
But as well as transforming her appearance, Kristy got candid on something “nobody talks about” as she believed that GLP-1s had improved her sleep quality.
Getting candid on her sleep improvements since using the ‘King Kong of fat jabs’, Kristy acknowledged: “I was sleeping terribly for years – perimenopause meant night sweats, hot flashes, hormonal insomnia, waking up five to six times every night. Always exhausted.
“Lost weight and my sleep completely transformed – night sweats reduced by 80%. Sleeping through the night most nights. Actually resting.
“Weight loss improved my perimenopause symptoms enough that sleep became restorative again instead of just surviving the night.”
The aesthetic changes are great. But sleeping properly? That’s the real transformation

As well as this, she added: “Now I’m not constantly running on empty at 46. I have energy. I can function. Everything’s easier when perimenopause isn’t destroying your sleep.
“The aesthetic changes are great. But sleeping properly? That’s the real transformation.”
How to take Mounjaro safely
IF you’re thinking of starting Mounjaro, here’s everything you need to be aware of to ensure you use it safely.
Consult your doctor first
- Discuss your medical history with a GP, especially if you have: thyroid issues, pancreatitis history, gastrointestinal disorders and kidney or liver issues.
Start a low dose and increase slowly
- Starting dose is usually 2.5 mg once weekly, injected under the skin.
- Typical progression: 2.5 mg → 5 mg → 7.5 mg → up to 15 mg weekly (in 2.5 mg increments every four weeks, as tolerated).
Administer it properly
- Inject once a week, same day each week, with or without food.
- Inject subcutaneously in stomach, thigh, or upper arm and rotate injection sites weekly.
Watch for side effects
- Common side effects include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, decreased appetite and fatigue.
- Seek medical help if you experience any of the following serious side effects: signs of pancreatitis (severe stomach pain), allergic reactions and kidney problems (low urine output, swelling).
According to Juniper – an online pharmacy – some Mounjaro users found the fat jab actually helped with sleep problems – albeit indirectly.
Juniper claimed that this is because obesity increases the chances of experiencing sleep disturbances and carrying too much weight can negatively affect sleep quality.
Other research shows that losing weight, which Mounjaro can obviously help with, may improve sleep in several areas, like snoring, observed sleep apnea, daytime sleepiness and poor sleep quality.
However, it should be recognised that the relationship between Mounjaro and sleep is conflicting and complex, and it’s not just the injections alone that impacts your ability to get some good quality shut-eye.
