A BARGAIN hunter has revealed that she took a risk and ordered a cheap mattress from Temu.
But the savvy mum was left beaming with her purse-friendly find, which cost her less than £70 – yes, you heard that correctly.

So if you’ve been sleeping on the same mattress for the past 20 years and could do with an upgrade but haven’t got much cash to splash, then fear not, you’ve come to the right place.
Janey, a savvy shopper from the UK, took to social media to share her thoughts on her latest affordable Temu find, leaving many totally stunned.
Showing off the mattress, which arrived rolled-up, Janey said: “With the extortionate cost of a new mattress these days, we decided to take a chance with a mattress from Temu.”
The content creator confirmed that she could “see the springs popping” as it was unfolding.
Not only this, but she could also hear “a lot of hissing” after it arrived vacuum-packed.
But the mother was left overjoyed with her mattress, which is “waterproof backed” and “memory foam topped.”
Janey confirmed that she paid just £68 for the comfy mattress and was even able to get free delivery.
She explained: “We chanced it because of the price of mattresses! To be fair it looks decent, smells brand new.”
Alongside her clip, she also beamed: “Under £70 and have to say we’re pretty impressed!
“It’s only been 12 hours so it’s still rising but for what we paid, the quality is spot on!”
While mattresses vary massively in price, those with memory foam can often range from £150 anywhere up to £2,200.
Luckily for Janey, she was able to save a whopping £579 with her bargain buy, which just like the Nectar Premier Mattress, which will set shoppers back £649.
Why is Temu so cheap?
TEMU exploded onto the scene in late 2022, with people all over social media raving about the low prices.
The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace – essentially an online shopping app where people are connected to the retailer directly while the app takes care of the shipping element.
The frenzy over the app is not completely unfounded either as it offers a wide variety of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture.
According to a report from the US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu takes advantage of a trade loophole that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the US.
The loophole is called the de minimis exception and it means they can ship goods valued up to $800 (£643) to the US without it being inspected or taxed by US customs.
Temu connects customers directly to manufacturers and only manages how the items are sent to customers.
It means Chinese vendors can essentially sell their products directly to customers and ship it without building a network of warehouses across the globe.
By doing this, they cut down on huge costs and ensure the product itself isn’t marked up extra.
While many of the products seen on the Temu app are from brands with extensive, original collections, many more are dupes of designer brands.
Social media users react
Janey’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @janeyk327, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 636,900 views in just two days.
Social media users were left stunned by the affordable mattress and flocked to the comments to express this.
One person said: “It looks exactly the same as the one I brought from The Range. Probably a lot cheaper too.”
Turns out the company I bought it from off Temu are actually a registered business in Leeds and supply these for B&Q and The Range so I got a bargain

To this, Janey responded and shared: “It’s pretty decent tbf, a lot better than I was expecting.”
Another simply added: “Looks good.”
Meanwhile, a third commented: “Had the same mattress for six months now and it’s the comfiest I’ve had in years. Paid a fortune for them in the past and this is far superior.”
To this, Janey wrote back and explained: “My daughter loves it. Turns out the company I bought it from off Temu are actually a registered business in Leeds and supply these for B&Q and The Range so I got a bargain.”
But at the same time, someone else snapped: “May as well sleep on kitchen roll, would be thicker than that.”
Eager to clear up the user’s misunderstanding, Janey shared: “Obviously didn’t read, it was vacuum packed and takes up to 48 hours to be full size.”
