I made the error of getting my eyebrows laminated

EVER since the trend took off a few years ago, eyebrow lamination has become all the rage, with thousands rocking neatly styled brows for that lifted effect.

The non-invasive semi-permanent hair straightening treatment reshapes and sets the brow hairs into a desired position, creating a fuller and uniform look.

It can last for several weeks and can be customised to achieve various brow styles, from feathery to bold – so, it’s no wonder beauty buffs are raving about it.

Women’s Rugby League player Emily Rudge also jumped on the trend last year, wanting to give her eyebrows a more defined appearance.

But unfortunately for the 34-year-old, the result was so disastrous she was forced to take drastic measures to hide them.

According to Emily, this was her first time getting her eyebrows laminated – and she decided to book the treatment right before the festive season.

Sadly, she very soon realised the grave error she had made after she saw her fresh brows which horrified social media users have since dubbed a “crime”.

Posting the jaw-dropping beauty fail on her page, the rugby player said: “When you make the mistake of getting your brows laminated (for the first time) just before Christmas.”

In the clip, Emily was first hiding the disaster – before slowly removing her hand to reveal the horrific result.

The new brows were so dramatic, many reckoned Emily looked like the Grinch and even the late General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Leonid Brezhnev.

Appalled by the tragic makeover, the sports star had to resort to hiding her new eyebrows behind a Santa hat.

“The Santa hat legit saved my life… Throwback to Christmas last year,” Emily wrote in the caption, as hundreds flooded to comments.

“How could she let you leave like that?” one viewer was lost for words.

“Are you sure you said you ‘want them done for Christmas’, and not you ‘want to steal Christmas’?” another joked.

Meanwhile, fellow beauty buffs shared their own epic fails, with one writing: “Brow lamination is not for us. I did it one summer and looked like Mr Bean for weeks straight.”

“Had the same issue and I rubbed my eyebrows with oil and soap directly after the appointment and brushed the lamination out,” a fourth shared a remedy.

“I’m crossing brow lamination out from my to do list,” a viewer was put off for good.

What is the ‘eyebrow blindness’ trend?

YOU may have seen the term “eyebrow blindness” in videos on your FYP, but what does it actually mean?

The trending term is being used by people referring to their former looks, which they thought of as on-trend at the time but can see were a total fail now looking back.

While big bushy brows are trendy at the moment, thin, sculpted ones were more popular back in the 90s.

With many people regretting the fact they’d over-plucked their brows and left them so thin.

The ‘blindness’ term has also been used to refer to other parts of the appearance that people regret – such as massive fake lashes, migrated filler or patchy, overloaded fake tan.

Bronzing drop fail

Speaking of beauty fails, one mum-of-two was recently left looking life she’s off to work for Willy Wonka after the viral Primark bronzing drops did her dirty.

Horrified, TikToker Laura Wilkinson took to her page after trying out the viral drops went terribly wrong – and social media users couldn’t stop laughing at the epic fail.

“Quick question… Can someone, please, show me how to use these?” she said in the video, which has since racked up close to 400k views.

In the clip, the mum-of-two showed she had used the drops in the Medium to Dark range, before revealing the jaw-dropping results.

“I am pretty sure this isn’t how it’s meant to go,” the blonde beauty was mortified, as she revealed her bright orange complexion that clearly hadn’t had the sunkissed effect she was after.

“SOS,” Laura went on in the caption.

After taking the internet by storm with the hilarious flop, the Primark shopper realised the grave error she had made, as many pointed out she’d skipped an essential step.

One person explained: “I mix them with my moisturiser or primer.”

Others also pointed out that she may have used the drops that were, clearly, too intense for her fair glow.

But as many were rushing to offer a helping hand, hundreds couldn’t help but laugh at the disaster, with one wondering if Laura was off to work for Willy Wonka.“Are you off to the chocolate factory?” a viewer joked.

Another was in hysterics, writing: “Umm I’m guessing you just use like 1 drop any more and you look dipped in chocolate.”
