FAUX leather is back in fashion stronger than ever, whether it’s stylish jackets or bloat-friendly bottoms.
But now one woman has revealed why you should never make a grave mistake with these trendy trousers after she ended up having the most mortifying day in the office.

Food technologist Tayla took to TikTok after things went from bad to worse and the wardrobe staple ended up shedding everywhere.
According to the fashionista, who posts under the username @_taylamod, she decided to iron the inside of her faux leather trousers before going to work.
But little did she know the epic mistake would leave her horrified.
While it may be a quick way of removing any creases, you shouldn’t shouldn’t iron faux leather directly because the material plastic-based and heat-sensitive.
Direct contact with a hot iron will melt, burn, warp, or ruin the material, causing permanent damage, such as discoloration, sticky residue and peeling.
Unfortunately for Tayla, it was the latter – and she only realised this at work.
Mortified, the TikToker said in her video that the damage only “got worse as the day progressed”.
“I was shedding,” Tayla said, filming the jaw-dropping damage.
What’s more, not only were her stylish bottoms totally ruined, with plastic hanging everywhere, she also left a trail of shreds wherever she went.
“If you saw me shedding across the office today, no you didn’t,” Tayla chuckled in the caption.
Although many of us would’ve been tempted to go home to make an outfit change, the TikToker revealed this wasn’t an option, as she had “samples to review”.
“Luckily I was at my desk a lot and when I needed to do things I was in the basement, only saw two people but we did laugh about it,” Tayla continued in the comments.
“[I] didn’t care to take an hour out of my day going to the nearest shops! There’s work to do.”
Posted three days ago, the clip has taken the internet by storm, racking up over 73k views and leaving people in hysterics.
“My jaw dropped! I’m sorry but your colleagues must have been catching jokes at you all day,” wrote one person.
“This happened me once with a skirt from Zara. Haven’t worn that type of material again. I was so embarrassed,” another fashionista shared their horror story.
“This happened to me. I was going to Usher’s concert! I hide it all night with my jacket,” a concert-goer chimed in.
“This happened to me at work as well, I wanted to evaporate,” a fellow style lover commented.
How does thermal clothing keep you warm?
Thermal clothing keeps you warm by trapping air near your body and preventing heat loss.
It’s made from materials like polyester, merino wool, fleece, or down that are good at insulating and wicking away moisture.
Trapping air
The fabric creates a layer of insulation by trapping air, which is a poor conductor of heat. This prevents heat from escaping through conduction, convection, and radiation.
Wicking away moisture
Thermal clothing is breathable and absorbs sweat from your skin, which helps prevent you from getting damp and cold.
Regulating body temperature
Thermal clothing keeps you warm in cold weather, but it’s also breathable enough to prevent overheating during physical activity.
Design features
Some thermal clothing has panels or zones that provide extra warmth to areas like your chest, back, and knees
