A MUM has revealed how she decided to sell her house and move into a mobile home on a traveller site.
Phoebe, who has two sons and has been with her partner for eight years, explained that they decided to sell their family house four years ago when “the market was high.”
She took to her TikTok page, @gorjapheeb, to speak about her living situation after people expressed interest.
Phoebe, who is not a traveller herself but lives amongst them, explained that she has always grown up around travellers after her aunty married one.
Wanting to be close to her aunt, she spoke to the owner of the plot of land – where she is currently living – and decided to buy their mobile home and move there.
She now says she has “no plans” of moving anytime soon.

Having shared her living arrangements on TikTok, Phoebe has received questions from people wanting to know more about her life.
In one video, which has now gained over 125.9k views since being shared in February, Phoebe responded to the question: “How do you live on a traveller site when you and your husband both aren’t?
“There is such a shortage of sites for travellers and Gypsies.”
Phoebe explained that she is “not taking a plot off of anyone” because she lives on a private site.
She also added that the site she lives on is full of families and spans generations of families.
Phoebe clarified: “I’m not taking a plot from a traveller as it is a private site.
“It is not a council site. Therefore, yeah, I’m not really doing anything wrong.”
Her video received 27 comments, with people rushing to share their thoughts.
One person wrote: “I’m not a Traveller and live on a private site – half of us are non-travellers. I love my mobile home.
“No rent or mortgage.”
A second added: “Don’t explain yourself. I was offered a plot on a site too, and I am not from the community…
“There are plots out there.”
A third said: “I’m not a traveller, but I lived on a Traveller site.
“Some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met.”
A closer look at gypsy traditions
HERE we take a look at some of the traditions many gypsies follow…
Family-Centric Living: The family is the cornerstone of Romani life, with extended families often living close to one another. Elders are highly respected and play a crucial role in decision-making and maintaining cultural traditions.
Nomadic Heritage: Many Gypsy communities maintain a semi-nomadic lifestyle, moving seasonally to find work or attend cultural gatherings. This tradition is deeply rooted in their history and identity.
Distinctive Décor: Romani homes, whether they are caravans or fixed abodes, are often brightly decorated with vibrant colours and intricate patterns. These decorations reflect their rich cultural heritage and love for beauty.
Communal Gatherings: Social gatherings are a significant part of Gypsy life. Celebrations, such as weddings and religious festivals, are grand affairs involving music, dance, and feasting, often stretching over several days.
Spiritual Practices: Many Gypsy families incorporate a blend of Christian beliefs and traditional spiritual practices. Homes may feature religious icons and amulets believed to offer protection and bring good fortune.
Craftsmanship and Artistry: Romani people are renowned for their craftsmanship, particularly in metalwork, woodwork, and textiles. These skills are often passed down through generations and are a source of both pride and livelihood.
Hospitality: Hospitality is a valued tradition. Guests are treated with great respect and generosity, often being offered the best food and drink available as a sign of honour and goodwill.
Sharing Stories: Storytelling is a vital part of Romani culture, preserving history, morals, and lessons through generations. Elders often share tales that are both entertaining and educational.
