I have my Christmas presents wrapped and ready to go in July – here’s how I did it

While most of us are still soaking up the summer sun and planning beach holidays, one ultra-organised mother is already decking the halls for Christms.

British mother Char Chandler took to TikTok to showcase her ‘Christmas cupboard’ where she is storing her children’s wrapped gifts and festive goodies until December 25.

Her preparations left many social media users baffled as the mother-of-three revealed she has already finished her Christmas preparations – months before the holiday season kicks off.

The clip, which was viewed over 180,000 times, showed the mother’s festive hoard – complete with carefully wrapped presents in gift bags for her friends and family as well as seasonal snacks.

Char panned the camera across a cupboard brimming with gifts, all neatly labelled and colour-coded with different Christmas wrapping for each child.

In the video caption, she explained her very relatable reasoning behind the early prep, saying she wanted to ‘spread the cost’ out over a few months.

She explained: ‘Christmas in July…..why not?? Here’s a sneak peak into my Christmas cupboard.

‘We have the summer holidays, eldest son’s birthday, two holidays and Disney in January, meaning I need to spread the cost. Here’s what I’ve got so far….’

Her post has drawn some admiration from followers, many of whom admitted they hadn’t even thought about Christmas yet – let alone started shopping.

One person said: ‘Oh wow, how cool! Love this.’

Another asked: ‘How do you know what to get them? By the time Christmas comes, they might not like it. That’ll be my worry xx’

Char replied: ‘My kids are into anything and everything so I’ve just bought a few things of the stuff he likes, Fortnite, Pokemon, Ninjas etc x’

Someone else added: ‘I’ve got pressies wrapped too love it all xx’

A fourth said: ‘I wish I was this organised I am still doing it [on] Christmas Eve.’

Char’s response read: ‘Aww I couldn’t, it would stress me out. Each to their own though whatever works best x’

Another said: ‘Love that, you can relax in the lead up to Xmas’

Char replied: ‘Yessss with lots of hot chocolate driving round looking at lights and having fun x’

But not everyone is on board with the idea of festive prep while temperatures are still soaring

Char addressed the rude comment in a subsequent video as she said: ‘I really don’t get it, why can’t you just be happy for someone, show it love, or scroll past?’

She defended her Christmas shopping and added: ‘I’m happy, I’m organised and I don’t have that Christmas rush and the hassle.’

Char then told people to ‘be nice’ and said ‘you never know what people are going through’.

In 2023, The Daily Mail reported families are starting their Christmas shopping as early as November to spread the cost of the festive season – when bills are also much higher.

According to John Lewis’ festive tracker report, which analyses YouGov polling and sales, a fifth of people – mainly women – said they start planning for Christmas in November in the hope of scoring a bargain.
