I didn’t want to spend loads on my wedding so gambled on a £20 Temu buy

A BRIDE has proved that you don’t need to fork out a fortune on an expensive outfit to look breathtaking on your special day.

Kat Skitch wanted to keep things “understated” and “affordable” for her Chelsea Registry Office nuptials – and found a stunning bridal cape on Temu for just £20.

Looking radiant on the day, she wore the elegant sheer cape over the Sade slip dress from Rat and Boa, which retails for £295.

PR strategist and spin coach Kat told Fabulous: “I’d already bought a beautiful slip dress from Rat & Boa and had it tailored, but needed something to cover my shoulders last-minute.

“I was scrolling online, found the Temu cape by chance, and it arrived just in time – a happy accident, really.

“The Temu piece was such an easy, elegant solution – simple, affordable, and it worked perfectly with the rest of the look.

WED THE HELL?

People left open-mouthed by woman’s £22 wedding outfit, including a 95p buy

“I loved how the Temu cape complemented the sheer chiffon inserts on the Rat and Boa dress perfectly – the fabrics worked so well together, giving a soft, effortless feel.”

Kat said she didn’t have a “set vision” about her bridal look and has never been an “overly girly” person.

The bride, who posts under @katskitch, added: “I just wanted something quite sleek, elegant and timeless.

“When I found my dress, it felt perfect.

“But as the weather started to turn colder, I realised a spaghetti strap dress might not be warm enough or feel quite right, so about two weeks before the day I started looking for something to layer over it.”

Kat and her now-husband tied the knot in an “intimate and low-key” ceremony surrounded by close family, and then went for lunch at 50 Cheyne, “which felt absolutely magical”, according to the bride.

She added: “My best friend Meg (@partyatmegs) made our wedding cake, which was not only stunning but so personal.

“It was such a beautiful, relaxed day from start to finish.”

Many people were hugely impressed with her £20 Temu cape, with one hailing it “stunning” and another saying it was exactly what she had been looking for herself.

Considering on average, brides in the UK spend between £1,300 and £1,500 on their wedding dress, with some designers even charging upwards of £10,000 for their gowns, Kat certainly saved a fortune.

She’s not the only person to have found their wedding dress on a budget online retailer.

Take bride-to-be Sophie Cook for example, she found a stunning dress from Shein for just £40.
