A MUM has revealed how she finally accepted she had supernatural abilities at her grandma’s funeral.
Chloe Smith, 28, works as a medium and claims to communicate with the dead, as well as having “proof” heaven exists.
The mum-of-three from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, claims to have had a ‘psychic ability’ since birth, which has enabled her to see things happen before they occur.
Chloe, who previously worked as a dog groomer, exclusively told The Sun: “I used to wake up with extreme nightmares to the point where I was screaming so much that my parents couldn’t calm me down.
“I used to be aware of things that were about to happen. I would scream and be like, ‘Your favourite vase is going to be broken tomorrow.’
“Mum used to be like, ‘What are you going on about?’ And then these things would happen.”
Chloe says nobody in her immediate family expressed an interest in the supernatural so her premonitional dreams were never properly discussed.
But when her beloved grandmother Sue died aged 62, in 2022, Chloe realised her ‘powers’ could no longer be ignored.
She says: “I was closer to my nan than anyone. She got cancer and sadly passed. And I was like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s gone’.
“Then I went to her funeral and she was basically there. I could see her sitting in the church. She looked happy.
“I didn’t tell anyone because I thought people would think I’m either grieving or have lost the plot.
“But I went home, and I kept seeing her. She was healthy. She was with my granddad Ed, who I had never met and I thought, ‘this is weird’.”
Spiritual Awakening
Chloe claims a pivotal moment came for her, when her grandmother appeared to her in a dream with an important message.
Chloe recalls: “She said to me, ‘Chloe, you need to help others’.”
Chloe says she was suffering with a severe bout of depression at the time and didn’t know how to use her gift.
It wasn’t until she was doing a shop in the supermarket that the opportunity presented itself.
She says: “I was talking to somebody when I was paying for my shopping, and I asked, ‘Are you struggling with this?’
“I just blurted it out. She was like, ‘Yeah, how do you know that?’ And I thought, “OK, this is weird.”
Chloe soon began to share her powers on social media as @chloemediumship and quickly became a viral hit.
She helps others speak with the dead, but she also offers tarot readings, therapy and other wellness services.
There are over 48 million videos on TikTok on tarot reading and over a quarter of the UK population have consulted a psychic, according to YouGov.
Chloe’s abilities have come to the attention of a range of celebrities including Jessie J, Daisy May Cooper, Phil Foden, Amanda Holden and Helen Skelton.
Kelsey Parker – wife of the late Tom Parker – reportedly also contacted Chloe after The Wanted star died from brain cancer.
The most popular way she does readings is via email, which she charges up to £79.99 for. Customers send in a photograph, Chloe analyses it and sends them a typed reading back.
She also sells products online including sage sticks, pendulums and mystery boxes, as well as her own fashion label 11:11, which plays on the 11:11 angel number, which is seen by some as a sign of spiritual awakening.
When asked what she thinks of people who doubt her abilities, questioning its legitimacy, Chloe says: “I do get a lot of skeptical people.
“And I think it’s really difficult because even though my industry is very, very based on being skeptical, or not being skeptic, I suppose you were drawn to the right medium for a reason. And you’re there and you’re watching it.”
Speaking to the dead
Chloe reveals that sprits don’t always communicate with words and there are for clear ways to know if you can communicate with them.
The medium says: “The truth is, sometimes, spirit does not speak to you using their vocal cords. I wish they did; it would make my job easier, but instead, we have these senses within us that they will communicate with. Think of clair senses as the language of spirit.”
- Clear seeing – You might physically see a soul or receive mental images, symbols, and quick visions in your mind’s eye, like a photograph or a short clip.
- Clear hearing – Hearing words, sounds, or clear thoughts that are not your own; it’s an inner voice, a calm, clear thought.
- Clear feeling – sensing energy, emotions, and physical sensations that don’t belong to you, like a feeling within your gut.
- Clear knowing- you may all of a sudden have inner knowledge, you just know something with certainty.
The Other Side
Chloe claims spirits enter her body to help her with the readings.
She adds: “I don’t really know how they do it but my body is a channel. I allow them to do that and it kind of happened for me when I was having lots of tests done from different things and doctors just couldn’t work out anything wrong with me, but I knew that they were happening.
“I’m quite a nasal person and I couldn’t breathe at night. And now I’ve found out it’s just the way spirits channel me because when I tell them not to do it I feel perfectly fine.”
She says: “Spirits usually enter my body physically, and I would change kind of character in a way. My voice could go, or I’d feel different sensations.
“So whether my breathing changes, whether I feel blood loss, dizziness, whatever it is, they’ll enter my body.”
But Chloe says you don’t have to be a medium to contact the dead – you just need to be aware of the signs that spirits are trying to get in touch.
She says: “Spirits connect firstly within our minds. So, the random thoughts you are feeling, the random memory that pops into your head, and you think, why have I just thought of that? That is the spirit communicating through you.
“With dreams, you will always remember what is needed to be remembered. Everybody dreams every single night, but you only remember the most important thing.
“It can be a little bit of detective work, but the more that you start noticing a certain sign, ask out loud or ask in your head and just say, ‘Show me that again, if that’s you.’ And then when you see it again, you’ll be like, ‘Oh, okay.’”
When I connect with souls they never mention a pain they felt while dying or if they’re still in pain

Chloe’s partner Mason believes in the afterlife and is understanding of her job – but isn’t keen for his own reading with the dead.
While Chloe has not seen heaven she is confident an afterlife exists.
She says: “I don’t know what’s there, if there are jobs or days out, but I know it’s real, or else how would I connect?
“When I connect with souls they never mention the pain they felt while dying or if they’re still in pain.
“They may recognise what struggles they held on earth but never about their transition. It’s peaceful, and you are guided with the help from your angels, and your own loved ones come and get you too.
“I know this because souls come forward together; it’s like a reunion when you pass away.”
