A SAVVY woman has been inundated with praise after revealing how she turned a mouldy caravan into a “stunning” mobile hair salon.
The Leicestershire-based hairdresser, who plans on going mobile with her salon and will be taking it to clients houses and venues, paid just £300 for the vehicle, before setting to work in a bid to turn it into her next business venture, Marlia Studio.
In one video posted to TikTok (@marliastudio), which has since garnered a whopping 244k views, the hair pro revealed the things she’s done since buying the caravan.
Firstly, she begins by saying that she identified mould, so removed and replaced all the wood and ceiling, along with the whole floor.
The hair whizz also wired in electrics, primed all the walls ready for wallpaper paste, filled the gaps in with flexible filler and primed the floor ready for vinyl.
She then put all the lining paper up and painted it, put vinyl down and painted the outside of the caravan ready for the logos/branding to be put on it.
The DIY whizz also had a boiler installed, connected all the plumbing up to the wash basin, before building a cupboard and bench for additional storage.
In a separate clip, she helpfully went onto share a breakdown of the costs she’s spent so far on the impressive transformation so far.
Along with the £300 spent buying the caravan, she told how she forked out £280 to paint both the inside and outside, £480 on wood for the walls, floor and to build a cupboard and bench, and £670 for the plumbing.
Not stopping there, she also spent £219 on the lino and glue/paste for the floor, £140 for electricity and £1236 for miscellaneous things like the wash basin, chair, mirror, window seals, locks and sky light – making a grand total of £3,325.
In response to one intrigued social media user who asked how she’ll be getting her water supply while she’s mobile, the hair whizz explained: “I have a tank on the front of the caravan.

It wasn’t long before the comments section was flooded with praise for the hairdresser’s handiwork – and it looks like she’s won over some new clients already.
