POLICE hunting for a man allegedly acting “suspiciously” towards women in high street shops have released CCTV footage.
He is reported to have been following lone women at two stores in Macclesfield town centre on August 4, and then again four days later in the Handforth area.
Inspector Richard Haque, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “These are extremely concerning incidents, and we are keen to trace this man as soon as possible.
“The footage is extremely clear, and I would urge anyone who recognises the man to get in touch.
“Information can be reported via www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or by calling 101, quoting IML 2150470.
“I would also like to appeal directly to the man pictured to come forward.”
The force’s press release went on to say: “On Monday 4 August, police received reports of a man acting suspiciously at two retail stores in Macclesfield town centre.
“Then, on Friday 8 August, police received reports of a man matching the same description acting suspiciously at two retail stores in the Handforth area.
“During the incident the man was seen acting suspiciously and following lone women.
“Enquiries in relation to the incident have been ongoing and officers have now released CCTV footage of a man they are keen to speak to.”
