MICHAEL McIntyre has turned down a big-money move to ITV because he is “obsessed” with higher viewing figures on BBC.
Friends say the comedian, 49, has “so much money” he is interested only in ratings, and does not think they would be as good if he moves.
ITV’s top brass want to poach the star of Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and The Wheel to front a Saturday night show.
Sources said boss Kevin Lygo has been personally trying to lure him with a huge pay deal.
One said: “Mr Lygo was determined to nick Michael and has been for some time.”
Mr Lygo is also said to be “furious” that the Beeb has poached talent ITV has nurtured, such as Bradley Walsh, Davina McCall, Amanda Holden and Alison Hammond.

ITV is also said to be unhappy with having to share its top stars with the Beeb.
Bradley Walsh, host of one of ITV’s most watched shows, The Chase, works with the BBC on Gladiators.
And Amanda Holden, Britain’s Got Talent, recently jumped over to front Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job.
An insider added: “Getting Michael would be sweet revenge for Kevin.”
