The truth about how Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher really feel about each other was revealed as they took to the stage at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium for the first night of the reunion tour.
More than 75,000 fans watched history be made as Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, appeared for the first time on stage together in 16 years on Friday, following an epic falling out backstage in Paris which sparked the band’s split.
The once warring siblings put on a reunited front at the gig, sharing a brief hug before walking out hand-in-hand to the thousands of fans who’ve waited years to see that moment.
And analysing the on-stage reunion, body language expert Judi James exclusively revealed to MailOnline that Liam was the ‘dominant’ one who was ‘firmly in control’, ‘instigating all the action’ as he led them on stage.
Despite Liam proudly ‘presenting’ his brother to the audience with an air of confidence, contrastingly, Judi observes, Noel appeared somewhat more trepidatious, suggesting he was ‘overwhelmed by the emotion of the moment.’
She told MailOnline: ‘It’s the body language details that are so important to the fans here as the Gallagher narrative arc is displayed to a breathless nation.

‘The walk-out ritual signals unity of course but the status and instigation signals are important. The glorious monochrome back view photo is intended to allow us to share the experience and see what they were seeing.’
Of Liam’s behaviour, she explained: ‘What we do see is Liam very firmly in control, instigating all the action. His arm is around Noel’s shoulders as though he’s the more dominant brother and as though he’s the one finally leading his brother back out to an adoring audience.
‘His maracas are held high in a signal of celebratory victory and they even form a V-shape to add to that message of victory.
‘When they hold raised hands it’s actually Liam grabbing his brother’s wrist and holding it up, again as though presenting him proudly to the fans.’
Commenting on Noel’s conduct in comparison, Judi explained: ‘Noel cuts a very different figure here. Walking with his arms down at his sides, almost like a small child, his lip-clamp and his lowered eyes suggest he is overwhelmed by the emotion of the moment.’
She went on: ‘Liam’s swagger is undiluted by time or circumstance though, thank god, and several thousand fans must have been mimicking it in a gesture of joy as they left the concert.’
Judi then went on to comment on the brief hug the siblings shared before they launched into the show, noting how the ‘significant’ embrace was genuine and not put on for the fans – indicating a ‘glorious’ truce.
She said: ‘The big PDA was actually quite fleeting but like all good PDAs it was the back-story and the intentional gesture that counted. Seen on the big screen in silhouette it looked like Noel beckoned his brother just before they started playing and the pair performed a quick but significant bro-hug.

‘Anything more clingingly affectionate would probably have looked like overkill acting of the type we see on Strictly and Love Island, but this looked gauged just right: nothing fake, nothing soppy just a fingers-crossed suggestion of a glorious (temporary) truce.’
The adored brothers at last proved they’ve put their differences aside, in a touching moment which saw them waltz on to stage arm-in-arm.
After working through countless bickers since they shot to stardom in the 1990s, fans were left devastated when a dressing room feud in Paris tore the band apart in 2009.
Noel insisted he would never work with Liam again and described him as ‘a fork in a world of soup’, kicking off their years-long feud.
In the years that have followed, a feud and bitter fighting has ensued with the brothers trading insults back and forth in interviews and social media.
Despite their feud, sources claimed in PJ Harrison’s book In The Fall And Rise Of Oasis that the brothers ‘still really love each other’.
An insider also added that Liam was the one that made peace with Noel, explaining: ‘He’s a great one for making, you know, peace. He’s the one that will make the peace and bring things back together with people.’
In a post on X when he was asked who called first him or Noel, Liam replied: ‘I called him but don’t tell anyone as I don’t want folk thinking I’m a soft lad and stuffs keep it between me n you cheers x.’

Proving they are closer than ever, Liam and Noel stepped out on stage to gaze at the 75,000 supporters who had waited years for this moment, marking the ‘momentous’ return of one of the iconic British bands.
‘Manchester vibes in the arena’, Liam announced with his iconic maracas in-hand before beginning the set with Hello, singing the apt lyrics: ‘It’s good to be back.’
Continuing with some of their biggest hits, Oasis then went into Acquiesce before transitioning into the fan-favourite 1995 tune Morning Glory.
‘Yes beautiful people! It’s been too long,’ Liam announced.
He then ordered the crowd to ‘turn around and bounce’ ahead of Cigarettes and Alcohol.
Later, Noel appeared emotional as he performed Half The World Away and even stopped singing for a few bars at one point.
There was also a heart-warming moment as the band paid to tribute to Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away in a car accident earlier this week.
While belting out the lyrics of the iconic Live Forever, a photo displayed on the big screen of the much-loved Portuguese star wearing his number 20 Liverpool shirt.

‘Manchester vibes in the area,’ Liam said before kicking off the show with Hello, which serves as the opening track for their 1995 classic ‘What’s The Story (Morning Glory)

After 16 years, Liam and Noel finally reunite for 41 shows across Europe and the 900,000 fans who have eagerly snapped up tickets will not be disappointed with the set list which is crammed with the nineties band’s classics
Jota died at the age of just 28 along with his brother Andre Silva. Diogo had celebrated his wedding days earlier.
The evening brought a host of celebrities to the Welsh capital for what has been described as a ‘momentous’ occasion.
Danny Dyer was pictured bounding through the streets of the city along with a pal shortly after 7pm, while Gavin and Stacey star Rob Brydon was seen taking in the atmosphere with his family.
Vernon Kay was also in attendance, though his wife Tess Daly was nowhere to be seen.
Before Oasis took to the stage, Richard Ashcroft was their support for the night, telling the crowd: ‘So glad to be here with the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band. When I heard Oasis were reforming I thought I was in it!’
Richard’s former band The Verve toured with Oasis back in the early days, and Noel was spotted in the crowd ahead of his own performance to catch some of Richard’s set.
Noel’s ex-wife Meg Mathews and daughter Anais were in the crowd to support him.
