How Camilla Araujo went from Mr Beast to $20m OnlyFans career

SHE managed to turn a literal 15 seconds of fame into a multi-million dollar career but for glam Camilla Araujo, some cracks have begun to show.

The brunette bombshell has rapidly become one of the internet’s most popular creators – all off the back of being a striking extra in the background of a Mr. Beast YouTube video.

She has now managed to bank an estimated $20million, thanks to being one of the first generation of Gen Z stars who have parlayed social media attention into a cash-generating OnlyFans account.

Camilla first recieved attention after appearing in a video on the major YouTuber’s channel – a real-life version of Netflix show Squid Game.

Competing for a prize of just over £400,000, Camilla largely appeared in the background and wasn’t even considered among the star cast for the online clip.

However, her appearance caught the attention of viewers who were quick to track her down on social media.

That single video appearance led her to rack up over 150,000 followers.

She soon decided to capatalise on these followers and aimed to make some serious money.

As a result, she set up an OnlyFans account where subscribers would pay monthly to see her explicit images and racy sexual videos – with Camilla not shy about showing off on camera.

She became one of the first generation of creators who used their huge followings on regular social media sites such as Instagram and TikTok to drive traffic to her adults-only subscription.

It led her to post provocative but not explicit content on the mainstream social media apps, in the hope they would sign up for her adult only platform to see more of her.

It is a model which is now largely copied by many Gen Z creators across the globe in order to have careers across both traditional social media sites and on X-rated platforms selling sexual content.

It proved a lifeline for Camilla to stand out on OnlyFans, where the market has become so saturated that achieving big money is harder than ever.

She previously spoke to Rolling Stone about the pressures of succeeding on OnlyFans and why it is important to cross-promote and build an initial following on sites such as Instagram and TikTok.

Camilla said to the publication of her career: “I’ve never worked harder my f***ing life doing what I do now.

“Yeah, it’s easy to start, but getting people to buy [your OnlyFans] you have to promote it.”

She added: “When you do OnlyFans, no one likes to think of you as an entrepreneur, they think of you as a s*** bimbo.

“I was like, OK, I know how to make a man mad. They hate when a woman who does OnlyFans calls herself an entrepreneur.

“So I would drill that.

“I would be like, ‘I’m a CEO. You’re working a nine to five, and if you think it’s so easy to make money selling your body, why don’t you whip it out and show them how it’s done?’”

But last December, she shocked her fans when she announced that she would be quitting the platform – despite raking in $5million in the past year alone.

Annoucing her exit after five years, she said: “Let’s get one thing straight. I don’t regret it, and some of my best friends still do it. I still support my girls.

“That platform is where I made my first million dollars.

“It’s where I retired my parents. It’s where I bought my first home.

“I was able to help hundreds of people through it. I’m so incredibly grateful for how far that platform has taken me.”

By this point, her fame had garnered her an invite onto Logan Paul‘s podcast with Camilla carefully plotting her next lucrative move.

But her decision to quit has sparked a brand new career move that has been branded a “scam” by some of her rivals.

Having quit OnlyFans, she launched a YouTube doc titled Becoming Her before announcing the launch of a $5,000 course designed to be a one-stop-shop agency for budding creators and online models.

But one fellow creator Forrest Smith claimed she took part in the course and found it to be “scammy”.

In a video, she alleged:“One thing they do is this whole ‘we’re interviewing to see if you’re the right fit’ thing.

“That’s just a strategy to make you feel special so you’re more willing to spend $2K to $5K on a course.”

She further alleged: “There’s no secret formula.”

Moreover, other fans have doubted its legitmacy and have even suggested some of the course could be an AI trap.

One fan stated: “God please if you’re someone that are buying these courses from influencers STOPPPPPPP…. They’re scamming you!! You’re not gonna learn anything valuable from these people I promise you.”

As another echoed: “Selling courses is such loser behaviour.”

Moreover, influencer Kayla Jade appeared to slam the course by stating that anyone who claims to have learned information from social media courses is “lying”.
