AFTER dominating the Noughties, the fake boobs fad went flat when Kim Kardashian made it all about curvy bottoms. But now bigger busts are back – and this time they are less tacky, more subtle sophistication.
The new trend is all about perky, natural-looking implants rather than Katie Price’s infamous balloons.
Hollywood’s leading ladies are even welcoming silicone back on to the red carpet.
Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, 35, admits she fancies boosting her assets after welcoming her second child with husband Cooke Maroney earlier this year.
The Hunger Games star – who is prepping for a nude scene in the spring – joked: “Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one. Second one, nothing bounced back.”
It’s a refreshing change from the days when celebs kept schtum about their nip/tuck tweakments. Now, it’s almost fashionable to flaunt a little enhancement.
Queen of burlesque Dita Von Teese had her boobs done in her twenties and often shows off the results in her trademark corsets.
The 53-year-old even slammed stars who deny going under the knife, and insists a nip and tuck is just “a dramatic form of make-up”.
Elsewhere, Kylie Jenner – who spent years denying that she’d had any work done – later made an extraordinary U-turn, even sharing details of her actual boob job procedure.
Now, with beauties such as Helen Flanagan, Lily Allen and Chrissy Teigen all admitting to a little enhancement, the boob job has come full circle. Here, we look at stars who reckoned bigger breasts were best.
Kylie Jenner
SHE was famously secretive about her suspected cosmetic surgery, even denying lip fillers until 2015.
But recently, a fan took to TikTok asking about her impressive boob job.
“Girl, please can you just tell us what it is that you asked for when you had your boobs done?”, TikToker Rachel Leary pleaded in a video, calling them the most “perfect, natural-looking boob job ever”.
To the shock of fans, Kylie, 28, replied with every detail: “445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!
“Silicone!!! Garth Fisher!!! Hope this helps lol.”
Chrissy Teigen
MODEL Chrissy, 39, has been open about undergoing a cosmetic procedure to enhance her breasts.
The mum of four, 39, first boosted her bust at the age of 20, but had her implants removed in 2020 after giving birth to her first two children with husband John Legend – Luna, now nine, and Miles, seven.
“I think you’re supposed to replace [implants] every ten years,” she said.
“But when you have kids, you think about [the risks] of surgery and I think, ‘This is not the way I want to die – in boob surgery’.”
Last year, Chrissy showed off her boob job scars while in a sexy dress on a date night.
Meghan Trainor
POP star Meghan, 31, couldn’t contain her excitement about getting new boobs after having kids – Riley, four, and Barry, two – with husband Daryl Sabara.
“My mommy boobies were full of milk and now they’re empty and then they’re full of milk and now they’re empty,” she told E! News in 2024.
“They got big, they got small, they got big, they got small. I’ve lost some weight, and I have, like, saggy sacks as boobs. I’ve joked and said for years, like, ‘I can’t wait till I can get a boob job.’
“I have wanted this my whole life so I’m going to have boobies that don’t look at the floor.”
The star has since enjoyed showing off her new fuller figure.
Helen Flanagan
ACTRESS Helen decided to take action after breastfeeding left her feeling “so self-conscious”.
The 35-year-old former Corrie star shares Matilda, ten, Delilah, seven, and four-year-old Charlie with footballer ex Scott Sinclair.
In January 2023, she opted for breast enlargement surgery, saying her boobs had become so saggy she “could have tied them in a bow.”
Her goal was to “regain confidence” and restore the “loss of volume in her breasts” while looking natural.
“I get asked a lot about my boob job,” Helen said on Instagram. “I breastfed three babies.
“I’m glad I could achieve a natural look with implants.”
Lily Allen
OUTSPOKEN singer and mum of two Lily had an “incredible” boob job earlier this year and has been splurging on sexy new lingerie to show off her assets.
The 40-year-old, who has split from ex-husband David Harbour, told her pal Miquita Oliver on their Miss Me? podcast: “How do I feel about ageing? Well, I just got some additions to the family – don’t know if you’d noticed?”
Miquita told her: “I noticed because you pulled your top off a month ago and showed me.”
Lily added with a laugh: “They look really incredible when I take my top off, and my bra off, but there’s definitely a contrast in age between my breasts and my face.”
Kate Hudson
THE Hollywood actress has never admitted to going under the knife, but her bust has looked noticeably fuller in recent years.
“Kate makes jokes about her boobs, but her chest has always been one of her biggest insecurities,” a pal told a US magazine.
It’s been suggested the mum-of-three went from a modest A-cup to a natural B-cup.
Plastic surgeons believe she wanted to enhance her natural shape. It’s rumoured her implants are in the 150cc to 250cc range, known as a “mini boob job”.
To avoid the tell-tale “stuck-on” look, experts say Kate, 46, may have had implants placed under the chest muscle, adding an extra layer of tissue coverage.
‘Mums will welcome return’
THE constant in life is change. What’s outrageous one day is the norm the next.
So, as someone who is as obsessed with boobs as she is resentful of them, I’m wondering if the “boob job” is now just the new normal? We’re welcoming it back with open arms (and flat chests).
Over in La-La-Land, Jennifer Lawrence confessed that she would dearly love to have a breast augmentation. And I’m pretty sure I heard a chorus of new mums behind her cheering her on.
The very idea of a celeb talking openly about it ten, 15 or even 20 years ago would have been unthinkable.
Back then, implants appeared mysteriously on the chests of many celebs of a morning – to the surprise of everyone else – and strenuous denials would have followed if any mere mortal dared to imply they’d inflated their breasts.
The girls I knew posing for lads mags in the 90s would claim their powerful pert bust was all natural. Back then, there was no room for boobs that might look natural or even a tad saggy.
Of course, people should have what they want but ain’t life funny how something which used to be so alien to all of us not that long ago, has now almost become the expectation among ‘slebs and even normal, young women?
