A housing association is threatening to evict an RAF veteran thanks to a row over his mobility scooter, just days before Remembrance Day.
Ron Gibbs, 90, moved in with his son Jason, who lives in a one-bed housing association flat, last year as his health deteriorated.
He parked his scooter, which he uses to take his two Yorkshire terriers for walks, outside the property’s back door.
But last week a social housing manager for Incommunities told Mr Gibbs it was a fire risk, and issued an ultimatum – move the scooter or get booted out of his son’s flat.
Despite Jason’s efforts to argue his father’s case with the landlord, officials will not budge on the issue.
Jason, 49, from Bradford said: ‘I called them up and I spoke to the same manager and I have never been spoken to like it. He spoke to me like a piece of… well, I won’t say that word.
‘He said the scooter had to be moved or we’d be evicted and they could confiscate it.
‘I think that’s disgraceful. My father is an elderly veteran and they want to make him homeless just before Remembrance Day.’

He told The Sun that the incident was proof that many in the UK lack empathy towards the country’s veterans.
The Daily Mail has approached social housing company Incommunities, which is run by CEO Rachael Dennis, for comment.
The Cenotaph in London is the focal point for the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday.
And last week, a taxi firm in Hull offered veterans a free 400-mile round-trip to the capital for the big day.
British war heroes will be able to travel from East Yorkshire to the war memorial in London and back for the annual commemoration in a heart-warming gesture.
