ROARING CONQUEST (1.40 Carlise, nap)
Olly Murphy’s six-year-old progressed nicely last season, winning a novice contest at Lingfield and going well in a Haydock Grade 2. He returned from seven months off at Windsor to land a convincing success over three miles. He came home strongly so the extra furlong up Carlisle’s stiff finish holds no fears. He’s gone up 5lb for that but should be well capable of improving past that. Soft ground suits and there’s more to come.
GROOVY BLUE (1.00 Southwell, nb)
Scored over hurdles and transferred that ability to the bigger obstacles when third on debut at Sedgefield latest. He jumped pretty nicely and likes this trip so can take another step forward.
STRONG RUN (2.00 Southwell, treble)
Did well in bumpers and ended finishing sixth in the Grade 2 at Aintree’s Grand National meeting. She came home strongly so moving up by half a mile today looks a good idea.
TIGERS MOON (2.35 Southwell, Lucky 15)
He’s been in flying form this season with a comeback win at Uttoxeter followed by a solid second at Fontwell last time. This trip is ideal and he’ll be right there again.
