ANNO DOMINI (Newmarket 3.35, nap)
The well-bred Godolphin colt won a modest novice on debut, but took a huge step forward when defying a penalty in a more competitive contest at Sandown in July. The runner-up Windlord is now rated in the 100s with both the third and fourth in the 90s. He quickened well that day and was well on top at the finish. He was thought good enough to run in the Group 1 Futurity at Doncaster in October, but a combination of a rushed preparation and heavy ground didn’t allow him to show his best. Conditions today will suit better and a big performance here could see him take up his Irish 2,000 Guineas entry.
FAIR WIND (4.10 Newmarket, nb)
He improved through the ranks last year and has the potential to make his mark in all the top handicaps this season. He should get cover from stall four and hopefully Pat Dobbs can weave his way through traffic to deliver him with a winning late challenge.
JUBILEE ALPHA (3.55 Cheltenham, treble)
Was disappointing at the Festival but can bounce back to winning ways.
INDEEVAR BLEU (6.45 Ffos Las, Lucky 15)
Should be way too good for these on his handicap debut.
