TEMPLEGATE’S Saturday tips are below,
Back a horse by clicking their odds.
IL EST FRANCAIS (1.30 Ascot, nap)
He has everything in his favour on this return to chasing. He’s a no nonsense front-runner who likes going right-handed on decent ground. He gets those conditions here and his excellent jumping will be an asset too. He is best when fresh and ran a cracker when second in the King George last season. He’s now back on this side of the Channel with Tom George and is still only seven.
HAITI COULEURS (3.00 Haydock, nb)
Rebecca Curtis’ star was brilliant when winning the National Hunt Chase and Irish Grand National last season. He came back with a smooth success over hurdles at Newbury earlier this month and looks well up to this test. His brilliant jumping will be an asset and we know he’s blessed with plenty of stamina.
CELTIC DINO (2.40 Ascot, treble)
Clocked a personal best when winning the Welsh Champion Hurdle on comeback at Chepstow last month. He got the better of Alexei that day who has franked the form in style with two big wins at Cheltenham. Sam Thomas’ six-year-old won on his last start here and held his own in Graded company last season. He shapes as though this slightly longer trip will be fine and he’ll run well.
