A MUM’S headless body has been found in a forest in Germany – with her new born baby abandoned at a monastery.

Severed hands, also believed to belong to the woman, had been dumped on a motorway two weeks ago.

The A45 motorway near Olpe in North Rhine-Westphalia, was shut immediately after a driver reported seeing human remains on the side of the road.

Two weeks later, and 70 miles away, a walker stumbled upon a woman’s body in woodland outside Monreal, a tiny medieval village in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Forensics in Bonn confirmed the woman’s hands were hacked off after she died. A DNA match is due, and her head is still missing.

The body and hands are believed to be that of a 32-year-old Eritrean mother, who last lived in asylum accommodation in Bonn.

Her three-month-old baby was recently left outside a monastery in Waldsolms, Hesse.

Monks at the Coptic Orthodox monastery found a baby left in a stroller outside their gates unharmed, appearing to have been placed somewhere it would be found quickly.

The baby was carefully wrapped and labelled with its name and date of birth, local media reported.

Police are now probing whether her 41-year-old partner — currently outside Europe and being held in “official custody” — played any role in her death.

He has been questioned abroad with support from local authorities.

German police locked down the forest, lifted “extensive traces” and admitted: “The head has not yet been found.”

Officers searched the women’s room at her asylum hostel but found no signs of violence at the accommodation, according to German media.

It comes after a beer manager’s body has been discovered in his car eight years after he went missing.

A property manager was inspecting a garage in Essen, Germany, when she came across the corpse lying in the driver’s seat of an abandoned Mercedes.

The discovery, which was made at around 8am on October 23, was immediately reported to police.

DNA tests later confirmed the dead body belongs to German beer company König Pilsener’s Ralf K.

Ralf, who was last seen in February 2017, is thought to have taken his own life – after a recent autopsy ruled out foul play.
