HORROR has unfolded as a man wielding a crossbow left three people injured in broad daylight this afternoon.
The injuries have been deemed not life-threatening and a man has been detained at the scene, police say.
Officers were called to Otley Road in Leeds this afternoon to reports of seeing a man with weapons, one of which, a crossbow.
This is on Otley Road in the centre of Headingley, and police cars have been seen blocking off an area.
People reported being taken off buses due to a road closure between Arndale and Woodies pub in Headingley.
Others reported a large police presence in the area amid claims of a serious incident.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to Otley Road, Leeds at 2.47pm today to reports of an ongoing serious incident involving a man seen with weapons.
“Officers attended and located three people who had suffered injuries which are at this time not being treated as life threatening.”
